Radiation Causing Cancer: Works Cited

The American Cancer Society runs this website and they provide where they got all of their information from. Every question that I asked about my how radiation causes cancer could be found in the website such as How cell is cell phone radiation harmful? and How do you prevent radiation caused cancer?. Also, there are each section narrowing down the types of radiation from different electronic devices which is more along the lines of what I was looking for in my reasearch.

Web. 08 Oct. 2013. http://www.epa.gov/radiation/understand/health_effects.html This web page gave me more general information on just radiation itself and how it is harmful in any form which helped me understand the more specific ideas on how radiation from certain electronic devices causes cancer. The EPA is a government ran website which shows just how reliable it is. This website told me that radiaion is harmful in all forms which is a different approach on the topic than my other sources.

This whole article was about harmful radiation caused from talking on the phone and sleeping near your phone. It provided information on where to go to get help to prevent radiation. I thought was cool to know that there are centers to help prevent this kind of cancer.

The title, Second cancers Resulting From Chemotherapy or Radiation Therapy gets you hooked instantly. To say that the radiation from cancer treatment can cause more cancer was new to me and I found it very interesting. The website also featured two real people who went through and survived cancer caused by cancer treatments which I found interesting.

The article is definite with the fact that cell phones cause cancer and does a great job at convincing his readers with information proving his point.

Web. 08 Oct. 2013. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cell-phones-and-cancer/AN01905 Dr. Moynihan, who wrote the article, has dedicated his life to studying causes of cancer. This website gave me similar information as the others dealing with how radiation in cell phones causes cancer. This website approached the topic as a controversial which is a different approach than any of my other sources. This helped me understand that the fact that radiation from cell phones causes cancer may not be 100% true.

The first words Do not sleep near your cell phones or any other electronic devices get you immediately thinking about being more precautious around electronic radiation.

This article recognizes that there still is no proof that harmful radiation causes cancer which shows that it is very unbiased. The cool thing about this website is it introduces international doctors opinions.

It shares all the effects from harmful radiation, not just cancer. The effects that this site talks about are proven which shows that radiation from cell phones are harmful no matter if they are proven to cause cancer or not.

The website numbers 1 through 5 on best ways to avoid harmful radiation. Even though there is a strong bias agreeing with the fact that it does cause cancer, I gained knowledge from this site that I wont just use in this research project.

Together they formed the RERF and are working to understand all types of diseases. Other than the fact that it is partially run by another country, this website also shares with us that animal research has been done to help prove radiation causes cancer. Although it is a very reliable source with valuable information, I did not find it helpful.

This will help me understand the more friendly worded websites easier. The information provided indirectly proves that radiation causes certain kinds of cancer, more specifically breast cancer. This website gives roughly 50 different notable doctors credit for research and opinions which helps me know that this website is very credible.

It provides a list of facts proving that cell phone radiation is harmful, but not that it 100% causes cancer. Also the website lists 25 sources at the end of the article assuring me that it is one of my most credible resources.
