1. Reflections (20%) A) You are required to watch a movie (will be determined by the instructor). Write a reflection based on the video(20%) The reflection must also articulate how this movie MAY change your teaching and learning experiences. It should include the following: a. Specific insights and characteristics of: a) Literacy learning environment and how it can be implemented in your early childhood classroom/environment; b) A learner; c) A good teacher Specific examples of insights and perspectives you have gained and how they relate to your future teaching career. Positive and negative experiences and what you learned from them. Description of how you might be changed somehow by the experien ces.

Portfolio: DESIGNING TEACHING MATERIALS (40%)

THEME: INTEGRATING & INCORPORATING TECHNOLOGY IN TEACHING & LEARNING. A) You are required to prepare/design a teaching material/ activity for young learners. The materials should at least cover 2 aspects of the following: reading, writing, listening, speaking. For example, you may want to prepare your own VIDEO/COURSEWARE etc. B) You must provide the syllabus (DSC) to complement your material/activity. Highlight the part that you wish to concentrate. C) D) E) Provide a lesson plan for your material/ activity. Assessment formative and summative Other relevant materials.

Note: you will also be assessed on the following criteria: i. Your selection of materials/ activity

3. Presentation (20%) You will have to present your portfolio in week 14. Your presentation will be assessed on the following criteria: i. ii. iii. iv. 4. Class participation + online learning (20%) You will be graded for your class participation throughout the semester including the online learning (elearning/ Facebook group etc.) participation. Please make sure that you log on to your learning zone each week by responding to the posts made by your instructors/ by getting involved in every discussion. Reminder: DO NOT copy your friends responses/ answers. Marks will be deducted. You may share similar views on certain issues but please provide your own reasons and justifications.
