Introduction
This document explains how to interpret the output displayed by the show compress command when hardware compression is enabled (that is, when you implement compression in the Compression Service Adapter [CSA] hardware).

Field Definitions
The information displayed here by the show compress command is the same for both hardware and distributed compression. For Cisco 7200 series routers with multiple CSAs, an additional line is displayed to indicate the CSA currently in use. Definition Serial6/1 Name and number of the interface. Hardware compression enabled Type of compression. Identifies the CSA that is performing a CSA in slot3 in use compression service. Total number of compressed bytes sent Compressed bytes sent including the kilobits per second. Total number of compressed bytes Compressed bytes recv received including the kilobits per second. Compression ratio for bytes sent and ratio received since the link last came up or since the counters were last cleared. Number of times the compression process restarts restarted or reset. Duration since the last time the counters last clearing of counters were cleared with the clear counters command. Field
