I have done both and using the 3ord table of contents is helpful when formatting your book to 4indle formatting because it will automatically link to each chapter. 5owever+ it does re6uire more time and energy to learn how to use and edit the table of contents. I often use a chapter graphic with the number on it. 5ere are a couple e!amples of what I have used in the past. I simply purchased a royalty free picture from istockphoto.com and then put te!t on it using )dobe -hotoshop software. #ou can also use free graphic editing software like www.-aint.net or free online software like www.-icnik.com to add the te!t.

I insert my eGmail and mailing address at the end of my books because I want people to contact me. I also put a list of my websites and then close with my signature. To personaliHe my signature+ I signed my name in a Sharpie marker on a piece of paper and then scanned my signature into an image that I inserted into this page of my book template. #ou can see the image below. I insert references through the 9icrosoft 3ord endnote function. If you don7t know how to use endnotes+ simply click on the help button and search for endnotes. @r research it online. #ou can also choose to use footnotes which will insert the reference on the same page it is referenced.

I used the formatting recommendations from N:hrbooks.com website. #ou can choose to use any font or siHe that you want. That7s the beauty of self publishingOyou have control of your book content and how it is formatted.
