(esides the preparations) well known from the ()*"+)-file that popped up after extracting the *ark+ne package) there are some other steps to do to complete the appearance of *ark+ne,

1.1 Disabling frame styles

1.2 Quick Search Toolbar adjustment

1.3 Background picture


8n image can e displayed in the ackground of the default Playlist "iew 49:Playlist and also the MiniPlaylist) see c%apters 2.; and 2.'01, (y default *ark+ne "$,% is set up to display an image that is called artist.< 4; means: .Wildcard/) not necessary to specify the file extension1 and is present in the musics folder, -f you want to change the path you ha"e to do this manually, Please click once with the right mouse utton on one of these three uttons rightmost a o"e the Playlist "iew:

2.1 ontrol buttons
3hese uttons should e self-explanatory, -t may e mentioned that the uttons position will e rearranged depending on your display resolution 4upper illustration shows the "iew on displays smaller than &$>%;x) in the middle smaller than &7%%;x and at the ottom higher than &7%%;x1 and that there will appear an additional utton on resolutions higher than &7%%;x, 3he .*2T.&+ utton as seen on the screenshot only appears if the optional Plugin foo?lastfm?radio,dll is present in your foobar20005components folder, +therwise there!s a 0.)*( .12T utton on resolutions smaller than &7%%;x and an *"" .$0. utton 4to add an 52: to the Playlist1 on higher resolutions,

8ccording to the chosen mode the stars in the rating panel will display (atings 7/%ite9) Pla counts 7green9 or an automatic rating 7blue9 generated y informations from the now playing track, 3he needed function is selecta le through a context menu y right-clicking the stars: 3he illustration on the left shows the context menu that is e6clusivel a"aila le during pla bac# of a file that is present in the Media :i rary) ecause the options only take effect on these files, -n 2T$P-state the .normal/ context menu of the panel 4Properties and 0onfigure only1 is displayed instead, For tracks outside the Media :i rary there is only a asic menu a"aila le during play ack) that allows the user to delete existing manual ratings 4"elete rating1 and allows access to the panels Properties and its script 40onfigure1,

2.3 Trackinfo #anel


3he area where informations a out the now playing track are displayed is a 0olumns U1 1tem details panel, Gou can change the informations that are displayed in the panel with $ptions) a"aila le with right-clicking on it 43itle Formatting skills are necessary for this purpose1, Gou can also change the eha"iour of the panel with a rightclick, (y default it is set up to display informations a out the now playing track, (ut in "ispla ed trac# you can also choose to display information of a selected track or select an automatic mode instead,

2.$ Display
3he progress bar is also a see#bar in which you can drag with the left mouse utton or the mouse wheel to e"ery point in the playing file, 3he .seek time/ will elow, e displayed in the display

Since there is no seeking possi le in 2treams the seek ar function is deacti"ated y listening to them, 3here are further informations displayed in the display D as long as they are a"aila le, .$22A?.$22.)22 D shows if the playing file is encoded lossy or lossless, *U"1$ +"B D lights up when the playing file has a M*E checksum, ()P.*AG*1, D light up when the playing file has 2eplaygain info, 3he 9lapsed-C2emain-3ime and (itrate will e replaced y the "olume "alue on volume c%anges for a out t%ree seconds, 3here!s a Pea#meter elow the information unit) which appearance can e fit to your needs, 3o do so right-click on it and choose Preferences, 3o change its appearance may e necessary when you change the glo al colour scheme of *ark+ne 4see c%apter 2.'31 since the Peakmeters ackground colour doesn!t adopts the settings made in Holumns 5automatically, 3he according settings are db (ange 4in the upper left corner of the Preferences window1 and the 0olors utton 4downright of the window1, -f you ha"e changed its settings and you!re not satisfied with the result you can go ack to configurations default setting y choosing the P)*:default.pmf from the "ar#$ne25$t%ers52ettings folder with the 1mport 2ettings option in its context menu,

Please click on the +),U utton 4on the left a o"e the Playlist "iews1 and choose &ile - Preferences "ispla , Here is the place to add your naming schemes andCor paths for up to four images 4&ront cover, Bac# cover, *rtist 4for an artist picture1 and "isc1 you may want to display in the co"er panel and D at least the Front co"er and the 8rtist D in the Playlist "iews, 3itle-Formatting and Wildcards are possi le, -n addition you can set up paths to 2tub images for each ta to display when there!s no match in the Search pattern and you!re not satisfied with the default *ark+ne stu images, 3hese stu images will e displayed in the Playlist "iews too 4see c%apters 2.; E 2.'01, 8t least it is recommended to set up a stu image for the &ront cover when you ha"e acti"ated al um art display in <' Playlist 4see c%apter 2.81 since this Playlist "iew can!t e preconfigured to use the *ark+ne default images, -f you want to use the *ark+ne default <oHo"er--mage) that is already used y the configuration except y the <' Playlist) you!ll find it in the ...5foobar20005"ar#$ne251mages folder,

2.B.2 C0ustom PicturesD


-n addition to the images pro"ided y the foo ar$%%% artreader you can also display custom images in the co"er Panel, Please click with the right mouse utton on the co"er Panel and choose Properties, *ou le-click on one of the lines in the blue framed area as illustrated on the left and type in your path and naming scheme of the desired picture, Wildcards) relati"e paths and 3itleFormatting are possi le, So you can display up to fi"e different custom images in the co"er Panel, -f there is more than one image that fits this pattern you can force a priority for preferred file extensions as illustrated in the red framed ox, :ike preconfigured you need to separate the file extensions with a F, Hlick $: to apply your action,

-n the middle of the configuration is a "isualisation called 0%annel 2pectrum Panel, 3his panel is preconfigured to its maximum capacity and may increase HP5 consumptionI 3o fit the channel spectrum to your needs) right-click on it and choose 0onfigure, -f you ha"e changed its settings and you!re not satisfied with the result you can go ack to configurations default setting y choosing the 02Pdefault.csp from the "ar#$ne25$t%ers52ettings folder with the 1mport utton,

2.;.' Grouping and sorting


3he Playlist "iew is set up to group y 8rtist) 8l um and D if there is more than one disc and the files are correctly tagged D disc num er y default, -f none of the a o"e tags is present in the files) they are grouped y the name of the folder they are stored in, 3he sorting in the Playlist complies with the order the files are stored in their folders, 3hat for it is recommended that the file names are eginning with their track num ers, -f you want to change these default settings please right-click in the Playlist and choose 2ettings 0 Grouping ta ,

-n the red framed text ox in the illustration a o"e please type-in your desired grouping scheme, -n the blue framed text ox in the illustration a o"e please type-in your desired sorting scheme, 3here is the possi ility to set up additional sorting schemes in the 9:Playlist, Gou!ll find this possi ility under 2ettings 0 +isc ta 0 *dditional sort format for conte6t menu, Please gi"e your new sorting scheme an expressi"e name under "ispla name and type-in your desired sorting string in 2ort format, Hlick add after doing it and your new sorting scheme is added to the list, 3o access this sorting scheme from your Playlist "iew you ha"e to enhance your context menu with the entry 2ort, 3o do it) please go to the Be%aviour ta , 8t the ottom of this ta you!ll find the entry 0onte6t menu, Hhoose 2ort from the drop-down menu and ena le 2%o/, 8fter hit $: your changes are stored and you can use them,

Same as 9:Playlist and the rating Panel you can change the eha"iour of the rating display in the <' Playlist, Please na"igate to +),U - &ile - Preferences - 0olumns U1 - Pla list vie/ - 0olumns ta and choose the columns (ating, <ow choose the 2cripts - "ispla ta , (ating +ode 3o switch the mode go to Mputs7rating.mode,09 and change the 0 7(ating9 to ' 4displaying the calculated *uto-(ating as descri ed in c%apter 2.21 or 2 4displaying the Pla counts1, Pla counter-.imit 3o set up the amount of play counts a song has to e left efore displaying all stars in rating mode $ go to Mputs7count.limit,B09 and change the B0 to the desired amount of play counts, Please read t%e 0olumns U1 "ocumentation for more details on %o/ to t%e options of t%e ,G Pla list.
