Enjoying Hardata Dinesat 7


You have just installed Dinesat 7, now you are a double click away from the most exciting experience in radio automation. Dinesat Setup Wizard will guide you in the instalation of your workstation, selecting the language and Audio mode (Direct Sound for SoundBlaster cards, or Wave for Antex or Digigram cards).

Then you will see the a typical Dinesat screen, where you can then distinguish the Main Window with buttons to open other windows and plugins.

The Time, Temperature and Humidity pane

Press the Time button and you will listen the current time announced by a speaker! l The Air1 Window, where you will see the commercial playlist.

The Air2 Window filled with random music programming

The Instant Play Window where you will see a list of audio cuts that you can instantly playback just by pressing a button

Press the F2 key to instantly listen Dinesat 7, Radio Automation. Play with the function keys to trigger the corresponding cut!

And the Titles Window, where you will have access to all the audio materials recorded in your workstation and all the workstations connected to the audio network.

Use the Categories ComboBox to browse all the categories installed in your local Audio Server, and double click over a Title or press the Play button to listen to it.

Let yourself enjoy the AutoPlay experience, listening to music, artistic and commercials automatically played back and mixed, conforming a radio station that will sound like a live broadcast. Press the AutoPlay button in the Air1 Window to start the auto operation. Press the Indicate Present button in the Air1 and in the Air2 Windows to continuously see the current title. To end the auto operation, press the AutoPlay button again and then the Stop button. You will see how Dinesat plays the commercial break programmed in Air1, then switchs to play music from Air2, and when it is time for the next commercial break, it switchs back to Air1 to play it. This is one of the five automatic modes that Dinesat 7 handles. To learn more about the other modes consult the Help file.

You will see in the Air Windows two cursors: the red one indicates the actual on air title, while the green one shows the next title to be played back. Being in Stop, you can change the starting title by double clicking the mouse over the title you have selected. While playing back if double click over a title will make the green cursor change its place, showing you that this will be the next title to be broadcasted.

In manual operation, you start the playback pressing the Play button. This playback will automatically stop at the end of the current block.

You will notice two play buttons: a green one (Play) and a red one (Cue). The difference is that the Cue button only plays 50% of the title or as much as 30 seconds, it is not registered by the audit system, and it is only intended to make a pre-listen.

You can instantly stop the playback by pressing the Stop button, or you can press the Play and stop at the end of the title button to playback the titles one by one. Or you can press the FadeOut button to make a fade out in the actual title and then stop the playback. In the Air2 Window you will see a list of music and separators randomly generated following a predefined format. This format can easily be changed by pressing the Menu button.

The music announces that you will listen to, while the Air2 Window is being played back, are dynamically inserted just before the intro of each song, and can be easily changed by pressing the right mouse button over the music title and selecting a new announcement from the menu.

Press the Play button in the Air2 Window, you will notice that it will change into a new symbol: the Xfade button. While playing back a song you can easily go to the next song doing a crossfade by pressing the Xfade button.

In the Air2 Window select a song by clicking the mouse over it, then go to the middle of the song clicking the mouse over the Cue bar and then press Play. While playing back you can make a fade out over the song to insert a live voice by pressing the TalkOver button: you will notice that the level of the song will smoothly go down to a predetermined level, so a live speaker can talk over it. To return the song back to its original level, press the TalkOver button again. If you wish to insert a pre-recorded cut over the song, select it in the InstantPlay Window by a single click over it, and then press the PlayOver button: you will notice that the song will fade out, the selected cut will be played over, and finally the song will return its original level. Press the Time button and you will listen how the time is talked over the song.
