Difficulty: ** You will need: silk, satin or brocade fabric; fusible interfacing; invisible zipper (refer to your pattern for zipper length); bias tape; 3 rayon braid frog closures. Attention! Fabric consumption varies depending on the size of garment. First of all, print out paper patterns and lay them out at the width of fabric/ knit you plan to use, to see how much fabric you will need.

When sewing the garment, pay attention to notches- they must coincide.

Cutting :
Shell Fabric: 1. Stand-up Collar - 2 pieces 2. Back part - 2 pieces 3. Front part - 1 pieces 4. Upper Front part - 1 pieces Fusible Interfacing: Stand-up Collar (1 pieces).

Instructions:
1. Apply fusible interfacing to wrong side of lower Stand-up collar. 2. Sew front bust dart and press it downwards. Sew front/back waist darts and press them towards the center front/ center back. 3. Finish curved (bottom) edge of Upper Front part and curved edge of Front part with bias tape insert raw edge into folded ready-made bias tape, baste and topstitch at bias. 4. Serge side edges of Upper Front, Front and Back parts, as well armhole edges. Sew shoulder seams; serge allowances; press them backwards. 5. Sew right side seam of Upper Front part and press it open. Sew right side seam stopping at notch for side slit; press seam allowances open. 6. Sew left side seam between the notch for zipper closure and side slit. Press side seam allowances open; press under allowances of side slit. Baste zipper into opening in left side seam. Sew the zipper in. Sew right side seam leaving a slit unstitched. 7. Turn under armhole allowances and topstitch. 8. Sew center back seam. Serge allowances, press.

9. Line up pieces of Stand-up Collar face-to-face, baste and stitch at three outer sides. Slash allowances at rounded corners of Stand-up Collar; turn the Collar right side out and press. Sew outer (reinforced piece) Collar into neckline. Turn under neckline allowance of inner Collar, press. Baste inner Collar to the neckline. Stitch in the ditch of neckline seam to attach inner Collar. Edgestitch Stand-up Collar. 9. Measure length of slits to make sure theyre even. Cut the hem to even it out, if necessary. Serge bottom of dress. Finish slit corners - turn hem allowance to the face side, baste and stitch with a vertical seam at slit allowance fold. Turn out the corners to the right side, press. Fuse vertical allowances of side slits to the dress, inserting sheer double-sided fusible tape between layers of shell. 10. Turn under and press hem allowance. Topstitch the hem. 11. Sew frog closures to the garment as per pattern markings.

Aluminum Crochet Hook Case

This case is worked all in one piece and folds like a book. The hook pockets are crocheted into the case! This case holds 10 hooks...a complete set sizes B to K.

Materials:
Worsted weight soft yarn (I used Caron Simply Soft)

Crochet hook size F (If you crochet loosely, you may need to use a size E) Two pieces of 4 x 6 plastic canvas (or size needed) Optional: 14 zipper (or size needed) OR frog button OR 16 ribbon (see finishing) ----------

Lining and Hook Pockets


Ch 31 Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; ch 2, turn. (30 sc) (Note: the ch 2 DOES NOT count as the first dc in the next row for this pattern.) Row 2: Dc in each of the first 10 sts, dc in the back loop only of each of the next 20 sc to form the back of the hook pocket; turn clockwise; dc in the free loops of the same 20 sc to form the front of the hook pocket; ch 1, turn; insert hook through the first dc of the front of the hook pocket and through the first dc of the back of the hook pocket, complete sc; *insert hook through the next dc of the front of the hook pocket and through the next dc of the back of the hook pocket, complete sc;* Repeat from * to * 18 times to completely close hook pocket; ch 1, turn. Row 3: Sc in each of the 20 sc, dc in each of the 10 dc; ch 2, turn. Rows 4-11: (Repeat rows 2 and 3) 4 times, ch 1 at the end of row 11. ----------

To form the spine of the case lining:

Row 12: Sc in each st across; ch 1, turn (30 sc) Row 13: Sc in the back loop only of each sc across; ch 1, turn (30 sc) (Place marker 1 in a front loop of this row to mark row) Rows 14-15: Repeat rows 12 and 13. 0(30 sc) (Place marker 2 in a front loop of row 15 to mark row) ---------Rows 16-28: Repeat rows 2-13; ch 2 at the end of row 28. (Place marker 3 in a front loop of row 28 to mark row.) ----------

Outside Cover
Row 29: Dc in the first sc, *skip next sc, dc in the next sc, dc in the skipped sc* Repeat from * to * 13 times, dc in the last sc; ch 2, turn. (14 cross sts) Row 30: Dc in the first dc, *skip next dc, dc in the next dc, dc in the skipped dc* Repeat from * to * 13 times, dc in the last dc; ch 2, turn. (14 cross sts) Rows 31-38: Repeat row 30. Ch 1, turn at the end of row 38. Row 39: Sc in each st across; ch 1, turn. (30 sc) ----------

Outside Cover Spine


Row 40: Fold cover toward the outside center of the case. Insert hook in the back loop of the first dc on row 38 AND through the first free front loop of row 15 (marked with marker 2); complete sc. Continue joining the back loops of row 38 and the free front loops of row 15 with a sc across; ch 1,

turn. (30 sc) Row 41: Sc in each sc across; ch 1, turn. (30 sc) Row 42: Insert hook in the back loop of the first sc on row 40 AND through the first free front loop of row 13 (marked with marker 1); complete sc. Continue joining the back loops of row 40 and the free front loops of row 13 with a sc across; ch 1, turn. (30 sc) ---------Row 43: Repeat row 41. Row 44: Repeat row 29. (14 cross sts) Rows 45-53: Repeat row 30. Ch 1 at the end of row 53. (14 cross sts) Row 54: Fold cover so the edge of row 53 matches the beginning foundation chain; sc through both loops of row 53 AND the free loops of the beginning foundation chain across to join (30 sc); do not fasten off. ---------Round 1: With outside cover facing you, sc evenly through both thicknesses of the case along the bottom to join (this will be along the bottom of the hook pockets); sc in each of the free loops of row 28 (marked with marker 3); insert plastic canvas piece in each of the pockets formed between the outside cover and lining; continue joining with scs through both thickness along top of the case; join with a sl st to the front loop of the first sc of row 53. Round 2: (Cover piping) Continue working a sl st in the front loop of each sc around; join with a sl st to the first sl st.

Round 3: (Zipper facing) Sl st in the first free back loop in the scs of round 1, ch 2, hdc in the back loop of each sc around; join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. Fasten off. Weave in ends. ----------

Finishing
If desired, sew zipper to the inside of the zipper facing, having the bottom of the zipper centered at the bottom of the spine. You may also use frog-type buttons to close the case, or sew ribbons to the sides to form a tie closure.

Steel Crochet Hook Case

This case is worked all in one piece and folds like a book. The hook pockets are crocheted into the case! The case holds 16 hooks...a complete set of sizes 00 to 14.

Materials:
Worsted weight soft yarn (I used Caron Simply Soft)

Crochet hook size F (If you crochet loose, you may need to use a size E) 3 different stitch markers (Could be 3 different colors of yarn.) Two pieces of 5 x 5 1/2 plastic canvas (or size needed) Optional: 16 zipper (or size needed) OR frog button OR 16 ribbon (see finishing) ----------

Lining and Hook Pockets


Ch 26 Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across; ch 1 loosely, turn. (25 sc) Row 2: Hdc in each of the first 10 sts, hdc in the back loop only of each of the next 15 sc to form the back of the hook pocket; turn clockwise; hdc in the free loops of the same 15 sc to form the front of the hook pocket; ch 1, turn; insert hook through the first hdc of the front of the hook pocket and through the first hdc of the back of the hook pocket, complete sc; *insert hook through the next hdc of the front of the hook pocket and through the next hdc of the back of the hook pocket, complete sc;* Repeat from * to * 13 times to completely close hook pocket; ch 1, turn. Row 3: Sc in each of the 15 sc, hdc in each of the 10 hdc; ch 1 loosely, turn. Rows 4-17: (Repeat rows 2 and 3) 7 times. ----------

To form the spine of the case lining:


Row 18: Sc in each st across; ch 1, turn (25 sc) Row 19: Sc in the back loop only of each sc across; ch 1, turn (25 sc) (Place marker 1 in a front loop of this row to mark row) Rows 20-21: Repeat rows 18 and 19. (25 sc) (Place marker 2 in a free front loop of row 21 to mark row) ---------Rows 22-40: Repeat rows 1-19; ch 1 loosely at the end of row 40. (Place marker 3 in a front loop of row 40 to mark row.) ----------

Outside Cover
Row 41: Hdc in the first sc, (sc in the next sc, dc in the next sc) 11 times, sc in the next sc, hdc in the last sc; ch 1 loosely, turn. (25 sts) Row 42: Hdc in the first hdc, (dc in the next sc, sc in the next dc) 11 times, dc in the next sc, had in the last hdc; ch 1 loosely, turn. (25 sts) Row 43: Hdc in the first hdc, (sc in the next dc, dc in the next sc) 11 times, sc in the next dc, hdc in the last hdc; ch 1 loosely, turn. (25 sts) Rows 44-56: (Repeat rows 42 and 43) 6 times, then repeat row 42 one more time. Row 57: Sc in each st across; ch 1, turn. (25 sc) ----------

Outside Cover Spine


Row 58: Fold cover toward the outside center of the case. Insert hook in the

back loop of the first dc on row 57 AND through the first free front loop of row 21 (marked with marker 2); complete sc. Continue joining the back loops of row 57 and the free front loops of row 21 with a sc across; ch 1, turn. (25 sc) Row 59: Sc in each sc across; ch 1, turn. (25 sc) Row 60: Insert hook in the back loop of the first sc on row 59 AND through the first free front loop of row 19 (marked with marker 1); complete sc. Continue joining the back loops of row 59 and the free front loops of row 19 with a sc across; ch 1, turn. (25 sc) ---------Rows 61: Sc in each sc across; ch 1 loosely, turn. (25 sc) Rows 62-77: Repeat rows 41-56. Row 78: Fold cover so the edge of row 76 matches the beginning foundation chain; sc through both loops of row 76 AND the free loops of the beginning foundation chain across to join (25 sc); do not fasten off. ---------Round 1: With outside cover facing you, sc evenly through both thicknesses of the case along the bottom to join (this will be along the bottom of the hook pockets); sc in each of the free loops of row 40 (marked with marker 3); insert plastic canvas piece in each of the pockets formed between the outside cover and lining; continue joining with scs through both thickness along top of the case; join with a sl st to the front loop of the first sc of row 77.

Round 2: (Cover piping) Continue working a sl st in the front loop of each sc around; join with a sl st to the first sl st. Round 3: (Zipper facing) Sl st in the first free back loop in the scs of round 1, ch 2, hdc in the back loop of each sc around; join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 2. Fasten off. Weave in ends. ----------

Finishing
