PHAZIR Rx Software Suite Overview

The PHAZIR Rx Software Suite provides a comprehensive and cost effective solution for modern regulatory compliance as well as a convenient data management system designed specifically for portable handheld analyzers. The PHAZIR Rx Software suite provides regulatory compliance with: - 21 CFR Part 11 Electronics Records and Signature compliance - USP 1119 NIR System Qualification Procedures - Traceable Reference Standards - Software Validation The PHAZIR Rx Software Suite includes three interconnected software packages including: - PHAZIR Rx System Software - PHAZIR Data Management System - PHAZIR Setup Utility The PHAZIR Rx System Software is installed on the PHAZIR analyzer and provides the following features: - Secure User Logins for controlled access - OQ/PQ time monitor to ensure data integrity - USP 1119 OQ wizard with traceable reference standard - Polychromix PQ test for day-to-day testing. The PHAZIR Setup Utility is installed on a MS Windows PC and provides the following functions: - Setup and maintenance of user accounts - Configuration of OQ/PQ test intervals - Security settings - Sample Information and group identifications - Manage PHAZIR applications - Configure PHAZIR The PHAZIR Data Management Software is installed on a MS Windows PC and provides the following functions: - Managing PHAZIR data in an SQL database. - Importing and synchronization of PHAZIR data - Electronic record archiving - Electronic signature management - Report Generation - Export database records to other programs The PHAZIR Rx Software Suite packages work together to provide a complete regulatory and data management solution as well as providing connectivity with the optional PHAZIR Method Generation Software.

Upgrade of PHAZIR Setup Utility and PHAZIR Data Management System (Windows XP)
If a previous version of PhazirTools is already installed on your system, it important that Windows is used to fully remove the previous version before the new installation can complete successfully. To remove a previous installation of PhazirTools, launch the control panel from the Windows start menu as shown below.

Next, launch the "Add or Remove Programs" panel.

Scroll down to find PhazirTools and press the "Remove" button. You will be prompted to complete the uninstallation.

If a previous version of PhazirTools is already installed on your system, it important that Windows is used to fully remove the previous version before the new installation can complete successfully. To remove a previous installation of PhazirTools, launch the control panel from the Windows start menu as shown below.

Next, launch the "Uninstall a Program" panel shown below for non-classic view.

For CLassic View launch the "Programs and Features" panel shown below.

Scroll down to find PhazirTools and press the "Uninstall" button. You will be prompted to complete the uninstallation.

Installation of PHAZIR Setup Utility and PHAZIR Data Management System

The PHAZIR Tools installation wizard will guide the operator through the installation process through a series of setup windows.

It is recommended that the default installation directory remain unchanged. The default Directory is C:\Polychromix\PhazirTools

Select Next to begin the installation process.

If PhazirTools was previously installed on the PC, the following dialog box will appear. The dialog prompts the user for a response regarding existing data. If you are upgrading from a previous version is and you wish to maintain your previously stored data including user accounts, PHAZIR Data Management System and PHAZIR Setup Utility setting, and data which could include Group ID lists, Sample information lists, and PDMS tables, you should respond No. A No response will not overwrite or erase existing data. A Yes response will overwrite existing data.

When the installation process is complete the following window is displayed. Select Close to compete the installation process.

PHAZIR Setup Utility and PHAZIR Data Management System are now installed.

PHAZIR Tools First Login

PHAZIR Tools is a secure system using Login and Passwords to restrict unauthorized access to certain functions and information. Upon installing PHAZIR Tools for the first time (or after answering "Yes" to the "overwrite existing data?" prompt) the default administrative account for both PHAZIR Data Management System and PHAZIR Setup Utility is "ADMIN" with no password.

Note: The PHAZIR Rx Software Suite supports User IDs and Passwords with upper case letters and numbers. .

Installation of PHAZIR Firmware (System Software)

Select the hhAppUpg program on the PHAZIR Rx Software Suite installation CD.

To install the PHAZIR Rx system software make sure the PHAZIR is powered up and connected to the PC. When the PHAZIR is powered up and connected to a PC, then select OK.

During the upgrading process the follow dialog will be displayed.

When the PHAZIR System software installation is successfully completed the following message will be displayed. Select OK to complete the installation process and disconnect the PHAZIRs USB cable.

The PHAZIR LCD will display the message Updating and a progress bar will be displayed.

When the PHAZIR reboot is complete the PHAZIR will prompt for a user login (if enabled). If the User Login is displayed select an available user login (and password if required). A background scan may be required. Either collect a background scan or press Cancel to return to the main screen. To verify the installation was successful select the following menu items: Select Config. Select Version. You will see the System software version, release build, device serial number, and FPGA driver version. This indicates the current PHAZIR firmware. You will notice the text at the top of the screen indicating "PHAZIR" or "PHAZIR Rx". This indicates the version that you installed.
