Information About the Current Semester

&i'e other semesters( this semester has also been designed to effectively impart relevant 'nowledge and help the learners ac)uire s'ills for their professional life* The delivery mode used is instructor+led and computer+based* The C Ts are given to students along with their 'its* To leverage e+&earning the NIIT students are also re)uired to register at Net"arsity* ,The process of registration is described on page -.* Net"arsity provides services to support students with their learning* These services will be available through Tech/dge ,on Internet only.* Basic premise of course design: Change in technology is inevitable( and therefore speciali0ation on any specific technology without a good conceptual foundation will not ma'e a person fit for employment* In addition( currently( software development is more to do with the integration of applications either within the organi0ation or across organi0ations by using appropriate technology* This demands intensive 'nowledge about any sub$ect for a person to apply himself or herself effectively* Today( there is a clear shift from des'top technologies towards distributed technologies* There is also wide area of application for mobile programming* This semester gives the students a strong grounding in distributed and enterprise technologies along with the mobile device programming to ma'e them ready for the IT industry* The semester also gives the student an insight into security issues and how to tac'le them* The modules covered in the semester are:

/+Commerce 1 In this module( students will be introduced to e+commerce and its importance* The
module e2plains the process of transaction in e+commerce* It also e2plains e+commerce architecture and the different types of e+commerce models* 3urther( this module describes electronic payment mechanisms that can be employed in an e+commerce 4eb site* In addition( the student will also learn about various security issues associated with e+commerce* 3inally( this module will provide an overview of techni)ues involved in designing and managing an e+commerce 4eb site*

C5%6 1 In this module( students will learn to develop and deploy C5%6 components using "C7*
They will also learn different C5%6 services such as role+based security( transaction management( and )ueued components* 8tudents will also learn to implement the C5%6 solutions using remoting*
