APPENDIX A18

XLPE Insulated Transmission Cables

The information in this appendix covers the following.

(a) Technical data: dimensions, weights, charging current, capacitance, a.c. resistance
and reactance (tables A 18.2-A 18.5). Conductor sizes are generally available for the
range 150 mm 2 to 3000 mm 2. Technical data is given for selected sizes.
(b) Power ratings: for single-core cables, laid direct and in air (figs AI8.1-A18.4).
(c) Conditions applicable: table AI8.1.
