PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Awakening a Love for Christ in the Heart of Richmond November 17, 2013 The Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time 10:55 a.m.
Please fill out the communication card and place it in the offering plate during the offertory. Please stand for these parts of the service.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth be moved, and though the mountains be toppled into the depths of the sea, Though its waters rage and foam, and though the mountains tremble at its tumult. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of the city; it shall not be overthrown; God shall help it at the break of day. Amen. Kremser
PRAYER OF CONFESSION (IN UNISON) Eternal God, our judge and redeemer, we confess that we have tried to hide from you, for we have done wrong. We have lived for ourselves, and apart from you. We have turned from our neighbors, and refused to bear the burdens of others. We have ignored the pain of the world, and passed by the hungry, the poor, and the oppressed. In your great mercy forgive our sins and free us from selfishness, that we may choose your will and obey your commandments; through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen. ASSURANCE OF PARDON GLORIA PATRI 579 (Blue Hymnal) Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen. JUNIOR CHOIR Cantate Domino Becki Slagle Mayo Greatorex
Sing to the Lord a new song, sing to the Lord all the earth. Cantate Domino. Worship the Lord with music, worship the Lord with song. Cantate Domino. Cantate Dominio, sing unto God. Serve the Lord with gladness, serve the Lord with praise. Cantate Domino.
At this time, children 9 years old and younger are invited to come to the front of the sanctuary with our volunteer leaders. The children and their leaders will worship in the chapel. They will be in "Children's Church" for the remainder of the morning and will meet parents in the social room.

Spirit of God, descend upon my heart. This is my Fathers world, He shines in all thats fair. This is my Fathers world, and to my listening ears all nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres. This is my Fathers world! I rest me in the thought of rocks and trees, of skies and seas. His hand the wonders wrought. Fairest Lord Jesus, Ruler of all nature! O Thou of God and man the Son! Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor, Thou my souls glory, joy and crown! Spirit of God, descend upon my heart. Wean it from earth, through all its pulses move. Stoop to my weakness, mighty as Thou art, and make me love Thee as I ought to love. (The anthem continues; all stand and sing the Doxology with the Chancel Choir.)
DOXOLOGY 592 (Blue Hymnal) Old Hundredth Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
Please join us in the Social Room following worship for refreshments and fellowship. The flowers are given to the glory of God and in loving memory of my parents, Arnold and Hazel Curtis, by Judith Curtis Waldron.
