Instructors & Instructor Training

Train-The-Trainer Phases
It is envisioned that as part of their implementation strategy, NLayers partners will have a need to certify instructors, to train end customers on NLayers products & services. It is NLayers intention to have processes, programs and personnel available in support of all train-the-trainer (T3) activities. NLayers will offer T3 sessions governed by standard NLayers instructor guidelines. If a PARTNER chooses to have NLayers supply, an instructor to either teach an end user class or conduct a T3 session the PARTNER will give NLayers 30-45 days advanced notice. The T3/instructor certification process will consist of the phases shown in the table below:
Phase Name and Description NLayers Instructor Role Teach the class as a regular instructor PARTNER Person Role Participate in the class as regular student

Student: this phase entails having the person desiring to be certified as an instructor sit through a regular class that is taught by an NLayers instructor utilizing the standard courseware. All class participants have an equal chance to participate in a normal classroom setting and having their questions answered. Team-Teach: In this phase PARTNER personnel who anticipate becoming a Certified NLayers Instructor are given the opportunity to team with a Certified Instructor from NLayers. Topics presented by the PARTNER person are pre-selected and discussed with the NLayers instructor beforehand. All pre-class interaction between the PARTNER person and the NLayers instructor is designed to provide guidance and a more in-depth level of understanding of the topics to be presented by the person seeking certification. The goal during this phase is to have the PARTNER person present between 70-80% of all course topics before a live audience. Classroom sessions during this phase will be video taped. During this phase, an evaluation form is prepared on each certified instructor candidate and discussed with him/her at strategic points throughout the course. Certified Instructor candidates are given a class Instructor Guide and a set of PowerPoint slides prior to the start of phase II that are to be utilized by the candidate to teach his/her portion of the class.

Team-Teach

Team-Teach

Solo: This is the final phase of the NLayers Instructor Certification Process. During this phase, the PARTNER person seeking certification as an instructor is expected to teach 100% of the class topics. All classroom sessions during this phase are video taped and a pass/fail evaluation is given at the end of the course.

Some of partners recruited to resell InSight 4.5, will desire train their end customer this fact also has the added benefit of allowing NLayers to leverage additional instructor resources. The resulting training and certification will play a vital role in helping to ensure customer mindshare in the marketplace.

Product / Service Specification

Training materials developed during this project will be modular, and material developed to support each section of the course outline will be able to stand on it's own. All training material developed to support each section of the outline will be task specific addressing tasks that are specifically performed by the audience the educational product is meant to address. Each educational product will identify (though not necessarily teach) everything the participant must know in order to be able to perform their job. Technology training will not be intermingled in the same section as the configuration information. Review questions will be strategically located throughout the educational products. Reference material created by Technical Publication will supplement the educational products.
