1. Galileo strongly believes that humanity will be able to accept his theories because they have accepted others in the past. He tells himself that humanity will be able to believe in his research because he has proof, just like in the past the great ocean they feared is a little puddle. There is more to the word and if they just ventured out they would be able to discover more. To Galileo, he hopes they will venture into his theories to expand their knowledge on the world. There have been a lot of discoveries, but there is still plenty to be found out. Galileo expresses his belief that there is more to the world than they already know, and for the future generations, they will still have a lot to do in order to fully understand the world around them. To Galileo, everyone is curious about new discoveries, everyone says: right, , thats what it says in the books, but lets have a look for ourselves. People are willing to search for answers for themselves. 2. Galileo is determined to find the truth and show to the people around him. As he said What is written in the old book is no longer good enough. Galileo feels the need to discover what the facts are about the things that surround him. Galileo believes in humanitys reasoning and therefore trusts people to accept his theories if he has proof, he believes that he can show the community whatever he discovers as long as he has the proof. Galileo is a dissatisfied man who is not pleased with what he has done so far, he is looking for something more to his life and not simply researching certain topics for the money, he wants a greater discovery. 3. Galileos research is not supervised nor is it rejected by anyone so far because the subject of his research is neither controversial nor is it a threat to anyone. He can do as he pleases in peace because he is trusted in the field of the sciences and also respected, however, the authorities in Padua supervise Galileo, he is pushed to produce work they expect from him, and he needs to produce work that pleases the authorities. That is why Galileos freedom is restricted. 4.
