Skills
Communication From August 2011-December 2012, I was President of AberMaCS (Aberystwyth Make-up and Costume Society) and good communication skills were crucial. I am comfortable leading, teaching and presenting in front of a group of people as I taught seminars and had to do it often as President. I find it easy to make good relationships with my peers and colleagues and was voted Society Personality of the Year 2011-12 (Won). I believe in being articulate as well as well-presented at all times. Time-management and good organisation skills, for me, is absolutely essential as, without it, I would not be able to balance my curricular and extra-curricular activities effectively. I manage my time well and always complete every task to the best of my ability. With a strong artistic background, I have a creative flair and approach when it comes to Marketing and Advertising. I enjoy branding and coming up with logos, tag lines and product designs. I have a definite eye for detail. Personal Interests
Writing I am the Beauty Editor in the Lifestyle section of the Aberystwyth University newspaper, The Courier. Due to my reputation and knowledge of cosmetics and skincare (I have worked as a freelance make-up artist for 4 years) , I was approached by the Editor of the paper to write a regular column about beauty trends, tips and tricks, product reviews and recommendations. I enjoy writing articles and pride myself in excellent grammar. Not only is Marketing my degree discipline but it is also my passion and greatest skill. I have thoroughly enjoyed working in the field of Marketing in my summer placements, and applying what I have learnt in my various modules to a real business setting. My dissertation is focused on how effective the marketing used in the YouTube beauty community (advertising, PR, direct marketing) is and how it can affect consumer buying patterns and behaviour. I thoroughly enjoy skiing and carry out my hobby on a weekly basis on the dry slope near where I live. I have also travelled to the Italian Alps on many occasions to pursue my hobby. I find it relaxing and useful as it teaches me how to manage challenging situations.
