Circle Time Review
This week we are going to review the focus grammar from the previous week: Where do you like to go? I like to go to.. Can you.? Yes, I can./No, I cant.. Do you like.? Yes, I like../No, I dont like.. We will review days, months and some numbers as well as the date. We will go through the phonic alphabet in circle time.

Preparing for Prathom 1

Class: EP3 Toadstool

Vocabulary: Sentence, write, read, prepositions, hygiene, left/right, beginning, middle end, sound. Sentence structure(s): Full sentences for all previously learned vocabulary eg: The ball is under the chair. The ball is on the chair. I wash my face. I brush my hair. A foal is a baby horse. Lizards live in the rainforest. Milk comes from a cow. Activities: Miming actions students have to respond with what the teacher is doing in a full sentence. Progress to students miming actions for other students. Completing worksheets for previous topics introducing the students to reading and constructing full sentences. Introduce students to the idea of beginning, middle and end using physical games like position running, building with bodies, etc. Practice more detailed conversation abilities with students they should be encouraged to start answering all questions in sentences where possible and reprimanded for not doing so. Games: We are going to play "fly swat", where the students have to hit the flashcard with the word that the teacher said. The students will be divided into two teams and then compete to see who can it hit it first. We are also going to play a memory game. I am going to put the flashcards out in order and we are going to say the words. Then turn over one card and repeat the order, turn over a card and repeat the process until all flashcards are turned over. We are going to play spin the bottle. The student who the bottle lands on must answer a question the teacher asks using a full sentence.

English This week in English prep we will do a review of body parts and play a game of Simon says. We will then do an exercise in the P1 prep booklet where students have to match pictures of body parts to the words. Then we will do an exercise where the students write fill in the missing words on body parts. We will review some grammar points from last week i.e. using a and an and which nouns to use them in front of. i.e. a banana and an apple.

Maths This week in Maths we will review numbers 1-100. We will then do an exercise where the students have to fill in the blanks which are numbers leading up to 100. We will play splat on the white board. I will write numbers on the board from 1-100 and also numbers in words. 2 teams will race to be the 1st one to hit the correct number called out by the teacher. We will finish by counting from 1-100 as a group.

Science This week we will continue the topic of living and non-living things. Students will give examples of living and non-living things. We will then do an exercise where the students read words and look at pictures and then write down whether things are living or non-living. We will then explore in more details factors which make something to be alive i.e. reproduction, feeding, movement, reaction and growth.

Please can you play the games mentioned above with your child. This is a fun experience and can be very education if you add in English questions.
