The entral +%an gas reservoirs are prod$cing %erc$r/ -ith process facilities <7RPP9 7*1P and E1P= inlet concentrations presentl/ var/ing .et-een 0.04 to 0.02 %g/*% ,. <%illigra%/ *or%al % ,= -hich co$ld over the lifeti%e of the facilit/ co$ld rise to several h$ndred %g/*% ,. Additionall/ concentrations of %erc$r/ have .een fo$nd in the non-associated gas processed at Fi.al 11P9 .$t to date these are ver/ lo- level. 8ith nat$ral gas so%e %erc$r/ is prod$ced9 the @$antit/ dependent on the reservoir. :n addition to %etallic %erc$r/ the gas %a/ also contain s%all @$antities of %erc$r/ salts and organic %erc$r/. *or%all/ the %erc$r/ re%ains for the %ost part in the processing installations and interconnecting pipelines. 8hen %aintenance or operations -or' is carried o$t the %erc$r/ is / can .e li.erated as9 in or on: Bapo$r fro% steel -alls of vessels9 pipelines9 pig la$nchers and receiversG As a li@$id in cold parts of the processG :n the gas and on gl/col filtersG As a sl$dgeG +n pieces of the installation itselfG :n de%istersG :n %erc$r/ re%oval .edsG As a %i4t$re in condensate9 -ater9 gl/col etc.

A data.ase shall .e devised for each facilit/ and shall .e $pdated -henever -or' is $nderta'en that re@$ires H.rea'ingI the press$re envelope and presenting a ris' of %erc$r/ e4pos$re. !onitoring points for the data.ase can .e esta.lished $sing the !erc$r/ Ris' !ap. 8ith reference to Appendi4 1 6 Personal Protection E@$ip%ent9 to ens$re consistenc/9 the sa%e :dentification riteria shall .e $sed -hen identif/ing %erc$r/ ris' levels in the facilit/ / plant. 1reen shall .e considered as safe and no %erc$r/ a.ove the lo-er li%it of J0.02? %g/*% , e4pected. At facilities that are identified as having a %erc$r/ ris'9 PPE specific for %erc$r/ e4pos$re and e@$ip%ent and tools re@$ired for %erc$r/ deconta%ination shall .e availa.le. The PPE and e@$ip%ent shall .e $nder the control of the ;aA!at Tea% &eader and co%prise9 .$t not .e li%ited to: Respirators "ace protection overalls 1loves and .oots

IMPORTANT - !ercury can ad ere to clot in$ and &oot%ear, % ic may lead to continuous e-posure( T ere&ore clot in$ and &oot%ear needs to 'e manu&actured &rom material % ic is non-ad esive &or mercury( Refer to Appendi4 1 for details of PPE re@$ired for t/pe of -or' $nderta'en and possi.le li%its of e4pos$re.

The ;aA!at tea% shall co%prise t-o persons each in correct PPE and e@$ipped -ith a %erc$r/ vapo$r %onitor and .ac' pac' spra/ charged -ith a deconta%inant che%ical. +ne of the tea% shall .e responsi.le for %onitoring %erc$r/ vapo$r and the second %e%.er for ad%inistering a controlled deconta%inant spra/ if re@$ired. Mercury Containment LaydoAn Area


Ever/ facilit/ that has a ris' of %erc$r/ conta%ination shall esta.lish a contain%ent area -here %erc$r/ -aste and conta%inated e@$ip%ent / %aterials can .e stored prior to treat%ent or shipping to a long ter% storage location. The contain%ent la/do-n area shall .e controlled and %a/ have facilities to HcleanI conta%inated e@$ip%ent and process so%e -aste. The conta%inated la/do-n area shall have controlled access and .e s$.Dect to periodic %onitoring. All %onitoring res$lts shall .e recorded in the H!erc$r/ Ris' #ata.aseI.
