D. Driver Requirement
D.1 Driver Weight The official mass of each car driver, driver as weighed at scrutineering shall be not less than 60 kg, including driving shoes, suit, gloves and helmet. If the mass of the driver/passenger is less than 60 kg, ballast will be added to make up the difference. No credit will be given if the driver/passenger weighs more than 60 kg. Correct ballast must be carried in the vehicle when driving. Ballast provided by the competitor will be subject to approval at scrutineering. Additional ballast may be provided by the organizers.

16

D. Driver Requirement
D.2 Drivers and Entrants Qualifications At scrutineering, scrutineering all car drivers must present a current and valid motor vehicle driver's license recognized by Malaysian authorities. All drivers shall have a minimum experience of 12 hours driving the car demonstrated by presentation of logbook. Only the nominated drivers may drive during race hours.

D.3 Drivers Equipment The following equipment must be worn by the driver anytime he or she is in the cockpit with the engine running. There must be no bare skin below the drivers neck level when seated in the vehicle.

2011 PERODUA

17

D. Driver Requirement
D.3.1 Helmet A well-fitting, closed face helmet. D.3.2 Suit A fire resistant suit that covers the body from the neck down to the ankles and the wrists. The suit must be in g good condition, , i.e. it must have no tears or open seams, or oil stains that could compromise its fire resistant capability. D.3.3 Gloves Fire resistant gloves which are free of any holes. D.3.4 Shoes Shoes of durable fire resistant material and free from any holes.

E. Precautions
A. When removing the roof. As the roof is being cut away , the floor loses its rigidity and it will twists and buckle therefore it is necessary y to reinforce the body y using g temporary p y structure/braces until the actual roll cage are ready.

Appendix 1
All vehicles must be equipped with the first and second roll bars (side impact bar) to prevent direct damage to the driver and serious cockpit deformation in the event of a collision or of a car turning over. The first and second roll bars form the basic element of the rollover structure. These structures must be made of steel tubes or other material t i l of f sufficient ffi i t tensile t il strength t th to t protect t t the th driver di from f a force f of f 4w (w=weight of vehicle). The structure must be bolted, welded or otherwise structurally incorporated to the vehicle according to sound engineering g gp practice. For vehicles whose bodywork fulfills the function as the first and second roll bars, the installation of additional roll bars is not necessary. (to show calculation or test for strength analysis will an advantage).

2011 PERODUA

22

Appendix 1
Roll bars must be designed and constructed so that, when correctly installed, they minimize the risk of injury to the driver. The responsibility to secure the necessary strength rests with competitors. No part of roll bars must hamper the entry/exit of the driver or take up the space designed for the driver. B l Below are th the example l of f simple i l roll ll cage d design i which hi h suit it l lower impact requirement which is suitable during the race. (not FIA standard design) Fig 1

Appendix 2
Side Impact Protection The driver must be protected from a side collision while seated in the normal driving position using a minimum of three (3) frame members as shown in a figure below. Fig 2
Side impact bar attached to 3 point on the main structure Door original lock and striker

Hip point

Side impact bar- A frame member must connect the first roll bar and second roll bar at a height same level as the driver hip point with driver seated in the normal driving gp position.
