Please carefully read through all the installation and assembly instructions before you start work. For all accessories purchased from WPL you will receive separate installation instructions which will be enclosed in the delivered package. 3. INSTALLATION OF FEED PIPES AND DE-AERATION PIPES The feed pipes are connected to a corresponding hole size on the front of the supplied end plates. The feed pipes must extend into the tunnel modules by approximately 200mm ensuring an even flow into tunnel. Use the connection on the upper side of the module for the de-aeration and inspection shafts (1 de-aeration/inspection end per line).

GENERAL INFORMATION

The percolation tunnel soakaway system has been designed for the percolation of: Rainwater from a roof and driveway (when used with appropriate filters). Rainwater from a RainRetain rainwater harvesting system. The structure of the tunnel allows a space-saving installation close to the surface. They can be installed in single or multiple lines. 1. CHOICE OF POSITION
Distance to ground water - minimum 1 metre The distance to existing or planned trees must correspond at least to the (expected) diameter of the crown. 2. INSTALLATION OF THE TUNNEL The horizontal, flat footprint of the excavation should be filled with a 100mm layer of gravel (grain size 8/16) to serve as a granular sub-base. The tunnels are placed on the gravel base and inter connected with each other in lines (lengthways). End plates should then be clipped at each end of the installed line. In order to protect the percolation modules from potential ingress of soil, they should be covered by a 200grm/m2 filter fleece. The filter fleece should overlap the end of the modules by at least 30cm. The excavation should then be filled steadily and in layers. If a lawn is planted on top of the percolation surface the system should be covered with a waterproof film to prevent the lawn above the percolation system drying out.
