Weekly Job Group - Job Group is available to any Work Prep client and meets every Tuesday at 10:00am. It provides participants with an opportunity to learn about the various areas of employment available to them. Each week, a guest speaker is invited to present information about their organization or institution, enabling clients to get a peek into the different occupations that they might pursue. The group also provides direct access to employers and educators. This is a drop-in group and clients are welcome to come to any and all group sessions. Computer Lab - Work Prep offers a computer lab that is available all day long for our clients. Drop in to work on your resume, complete an online job search, look for childcare, research education and training options, practice typing, or any other work-related task. A counsellor will always be available to assist you. SOC 1 Exploring Change - This interactive workshop is ideal for people who are interested in exploring change. Participants will learn about the Stages of Change model, have the opportunity to look at the pros and cons of change, and will leave with a clearer idea of what their next steps might be. SOC 2 Preparing for Action - This workshop is ideal for people who are ready to begin planning and preparing for employment or training. Participants will be offered the tools needed to manage stress and access supports. Participants will leave armed with confidence and new resources, ready to take action toward their employment or training goals. Job Search Confidence - In this 2-hour workshop, participants will learn self esteem basics and how to apply them to their job search or educational goals. Participants will also be offered tips that will help them to improve their job search, feel better prepared, and in turn, be more confident when searching for employment. This workshop is ideal for people needing some encouragement and renewed motivation to continue pursuing their goals. Introduction to Choice Theory - This 2-hour interactive workshop will get people thinking about what is most important to them when making choices, and reflect on how to select more effective behaviours in order to get what they want. It will encourage clients to accept personal responsibility for making positive change in their lives. Discussion will also include healthy relationship habits. Basic information about editing and formatting documents will also be provided. This training session will particularly benefit those who want to work on a resume/cover letter/reference sheet, b ut dont know where to start. If you have a flash drive, please bring it with you.

The 1 class will cover common beadwork, such nd rd as jewellery; the 2 will involve lanyards; in the 3 class, we will create a medallion; and the remaining sessions will focus on moccasin making. All classes will last 3 hours, and have an instructor on hand to provide group instruction and one-on-one assistance, if required. Lindell Haywahe is our instructor, and she will be using the Sacred Seven Grandfather Teachings (honesty, humility, truth, respect, wisdom, love, bravery) in conjunction with her instruction. These beading classes will help to instil confidence, pride and work ethic, which can have an enduring effect and lead to sustainability in employment.
