3D Box with Photoshop

What I will attempt here is to create a 3D box interior. Some call this making a room. Whatever you call it, it can be made using Photoshop. o special skill is re!uired. "ust #ollow along.

Step $ % I have opened this photo in Photoshop. & seascape or a scenery is the easiest to use #or this tutorial.

Step ' % (lick the Polygon )asso *ool #rom the #lyout.

Step 3 % (lick at the corner at the le#t top and drag with the Polygon )asso and click again.

Step+ % &#ter clicking the second point, press Shi#t and drag down. ,ou will be able to drag down in a straight line. (lick again at the end o# the straight line.

Step - % &#ter clicking on the third point, drag with the Polygon )asso till you reach the le#t bottom corner. *hen drag up till you reach the #irst point. When you reach the #irst point, a selection #orms like this.

Step . % Press (*/)0". *he selection will be copied and pasted into a new layer in. ,ou can see it in the )ayers pallete.

Step 1 % (lick the &dd )ayer Style button in the bottom o# the )ayers pallete and click on Inner Shadow #rom the popup.

Step 2 % In the Inner Shadow dialogue box I have increased the 3pacity to 45 6, the Distance by $- pixel, the Si7e by $55 pixel and lastly the (hoke by $5 6. *here is nothing hard and #ast about these settings. It might di##er in case o# o# you image. ,ou will be able to see the e##ect as you give the settings. (lick 38.

Step 4 % Press (*/)0". )ayer $ duplicates into )ayer $ copy.

Step $5 % 9o to :dit;*rans#orm;<lip =ori7ontal.

Step $$ % (lick the >ove *ool.

Step $' % Press Shi#t and drag the )ayer to the right. Position it accurately by using the )e#t and /ight arrow keys when you reach the right edge.

Step $3 % (lick on the ?ackground )ayer.

Step$+ % (lick the Polygon )asso *ool.

Step $- % (lick the <irst, Second, *hird, <ourth and <inal points with the Polygon )asso *ool. & selection #orms when you click back on the <irst point.

Step $. % Press (*/)0". *he selection is cut and pasted onto a new )ayer '.

Step $1 % (lick on )ayer $. /ight click :##ects. & popup appears. (lick on (opy )ayer Style.

Step $2 % (lick on )ayer '. /ight (lick. <rom the popup click on Paste )ayer Style.

*he :##ects and Inner Shadow has been pasted on )ayer '.

*his is how the Photo now looks like.

Step $4 % (lick on the ?ackground )ayer again.

Step '5 % (lick again on the Polygon )asso *ool.

Step '$ % (lick on the points &, ?, ( and D and then click back on &. & selection #orms.

Step '' % Press (*/)0". & new )ayer 3 #orms above the ?ackground )ayer.

Step '3 % /ight click )ayer 3. <rom the popup click on Paste )ayer Style.

*his is how the image looks. ote that there is a gap at the edges where it meets the le#t and right sides o# the box. *his may well happen.

Step '+ % Press (*/)0*. & selection #orms.

Step '- % Drag the middle handle downwards till the le#t bottom edge aligns with the le#t and right panels. Press :nter.

Step '. % Press (trl0*. Press &lt and drag the right or le#t middle handle outwards till the top corners align. Press enter to apply the trans#ormation.

Step '1 % (lick on thetopmost layer.

Step '2 % I have opened this photo with a White background. Press (*/)0&, then (*/)0(. It@s easy when you have a white background.

Step '4 % 9o back to the other image and press (*/)0A. *he photo will be pasted. *he photo that I have chosen is too large and has to be reduced in si7e.

Step 35 % Press (*/)0*. *hen press Shi#t0&lt and drag down diagonally. )et go o# Shi#t0&lt. Bse the >ove *ool to drag it up. *hen again press Shi#t0&lt and drag down. Do this till the image is resi7ed properly. Press enter to apply the trans#ormation.

Step 3$ % *he photo has been resi7ed. >ove it to the midde with the >ove *ool. Bse the )e#t and /ight arrow keys to #ine tune so that the image is in the middle.

. Step 3' % (lick where the arrow points to, to reveal the popup menu o# ?lend >odes and click on >ultiply.

&nd, there is my #inished picture. I don@t think that it is di##icult. *ry it out.
