Thesis: Technology brings pros and cons to the world. Purpose: To inform my audience about the pros and the cons of technology. INTODUCTION I. What is technology?
A. Technology is a strategy and engineering of information used to develop tools,

skills, and collect materials.


B. Technology has been around since the known human existence.

II.

Technology is not created or modeled by a majority of people. A. Technology originates within a small group of people.

III.

There are different types of technology. A. Medical Technology 1. Medical technology supports and ensures survival for patients. a. People who have missing limbs can get implants. b. Oxygen supply can be provided to those with breathing problems. c. People with hearing impairments can be provided with cochlear implants. B. Instructional Technology 1. Instructional technology refers to technologies that are used to teach, learn and communicate certain ideas adequately. a. These technologies deliver information in different ways. b. Some examples are computers, the internet, television, videotapes, and more.

C. Assistive Technology 1. This type of technology works with specialized equipment, learning material, and services. 2. Assistive technology is used to assist those in society who have disabilities. a. Some examples of those disabilities are a learning disability, physiological or psychological. BODY I. Technology has pros. A. Technology enables faster communication through email, webcam, social networks, the telephone, etc.
1. With faster communication, people from all over the world can easily

keep in touch. B. Technology lets scientists work better with science. They can find more cures for different diseases and illnesses.
1. Scientists are a step closer to finding a cure for cancer.

C. Now, in the twenty-first century, computers are a big part of technology. 1. Businesses cannot function without computers. 2. With computers, schools can offer a better education to students. II.Technology has cons. A. With so much technology coming in, it is hard to inform and teach everyone about it. 1. Some people are not willing to participate in extra-time teaching.

2. Therefore, many people stay ignorant to technology. B. Coming with ideas for new technology is easy, however, incorporating those ideas and making them come to life consumes time and money. 1. Since social networks are in the internet, inappropriate material can be found. C. Even though social networks are good for communication, they can be dangerous. 1. With so many countries having a low economy, it is hard to spend money on new technology. 2. Technology itself is expensive.

CONCLUSION I. Technology is a strategy and engineering of information used to develop tools, skills, and collect materials. II. There are different types of technology. a. Medical Technology b. Instructional Technology c. Assistive Technology III. Technology comes with pros and cons. It can help society or it can harm it.
