Dear Colleague, It is our pleasure to extend to you this warm invitation to INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR AEROSPACE INDUSTRY AND ENVIRONMENT ISSUES 2008, 2008 a Seminar in-collaboration between Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT) and Institut of Aeronautique Spatial (IAS) together with Groupement des Industries Franaises Aronautique et Spatiale (GIFAS) on 1-2 December 2008 in Putrajaya, Malaysia. Malaysia This enlightening Seminar is designed for you to have an opportunity to be part of the global aviation community who are adamant in making our environment a better place to live in. It delivers a large scan of research and development activities, industry practices, regulatory and commercial aspects which focus on environment concerns to mitigate the unwanted consequences of this industry. All these will be addressed and attended by European aerospace specialists such as from Airbus, ATR, Eurocopter, and Snecma, etc As our tagline says, Finding Finding Your Footprint In The Sky, Sky, come and join us to examine the latest knowledge and proposals of the industry shared by our colleagues from Europe. This would be a great time for you to have a change in your daily work routines as we are confident that this Seminar will bring us together to share with some of the regions aerospace players their experience. INTRODUCTION

Aviation is one of societys contributors, bringing people and cultures together and creating economic growth all over the world. This industry does not ignore the growing concerns about the environment related to air pollution, noise and contribution to climate change. For the Asia Pacific countries including South East Asia region, the environmental issues in the aviation sector are becoming significantly relevant matter due to the impressive growth in the air traffic figures. As main European aerospace industries and institutions have already launched various measures and proposals to push forward for significant improvement to reduce environment effects in their aviation activities, their visions should be shared and applied to this high air traffics growth region in betterment for our environment. Therefore, the main objectives of this event are to strengthen our knowledge, to see new perspectives, to explore innovative ideas, and to share experiences as to face the issues and challenges posed to us in making our environment greener. As our tagline says Find Your Footprint * in the Sky, so lets find it!

ABOUT US: UniKL MIAT is a technical university that focuses in aircraft maintenance and aviation technology. The university is an Approved Training Organization (ATO) and a winner of Frost & Sullivan Award for Asia Pacific Aviation Workforce Development of the Year 2008. IAS is the co-operation agency for international education of the French aerospace industries association (GIFAS GIFAS) GIFAS based in Toulouse, France. Its members are the major aeronautic & space companies such as EADS, SAFRAN, THALES, DASSAULT, Aeronautic and Space SMEs.
