2. Did any flights land at McCarran after September
11, 2001, and before the airport reopened? If so,
please list the flights with the dates and times of
arrival.
One Southwest Airlines re-positioning flight landed on
Wednesday, September 12, time unknown. We have asked
the airline to check their records, but the data is archived at
their corporate headquarters and may take several weeks to
retrieve.

3. On what date and at what precise time do your


records indicate that the following flights departed
from McCarran? If you do not have any records
regarding these flights, please state that in your
response.
Requested departing flight data:

Flight DC-8-73, Republic of Gabon charter, departed on September 19,


2001 at approximately 7:00 PM, PST.

Chartered Flight B 727-21, September 20, 2001. The Fixed Base


Operator (FBO) that handled the flight, Las Vegas Executive Air
Terminal, has no flight information available.

American Trans Air Flight L-1011, a charter, departed on


September 24, 2001 at approximately 9:00 PM, PST.

• Flight DC-8-73, a chartered Republic of
Gabon airplane with 46 people, including
several members of the Saudi royal family,
departing from Las Vegas, Nevada for
Geneva, Switzerland on or about September
19,2001;

• Chartered Flight B 727-21, with 18 people,


members of the same Saudi royal party,
departing from Las Vegas, Nevada for
Stamstead, England on September 20, 2001;
and

• American Trans Air flight L-1011 with 34


members of the party of Saudi Prince Turki,
departing from Las Vegas, Nevada for Paris,
France on September 24, 2001.

4. What information, if any, do you have about the


screening by law enforcement personnel—including
law enforcement personnel affiliated with the
airport facility—of individuals on these flights?
Local law enforcement personnel assigned to the airport
were present at the two flights handled by the Signature
FBO. Agents from the FBI, U.S. Customs and Immigration
and the FAA were present for the departure of the DC-8
charter. The L-1011 charter was cleared to depart by
Customs and Immigration. No information is available for
the B 727 departure.

If you have any questions or concerns about the interpretation or scope of


these questions, please raise them with the Commission staff as soon as
possible so that they can be addressed and resolved prior to the
production date.
