Sacred Steps:

2014 Pilgrimage

El Camino de Santiago, Spain

September 29 to October 10, 2014 Join us
"Every journey is both inward and outward, an opportunity to discover new meaning or encounter the world with fresh eyes. Pilgrimage, a special kind of travel, is a physical, geographical, and spiritual effort, akin to prayer. It is the individual and collective search for the sacred, where the spiritual experience and geography converge...."
----Valerie Brown Pilgrimage Leader and Author The Road that Teaches: Lessons in Transformation through Travel (QuakerBridge 2012). www.leadsmartcoaching.com

Join us as we walk along the Camino de Santiago, Spains 1,000 year old pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. This section of the Camino takes us along the most beautiful footpaths of green Galicia, exploring farm villages and tiny hamlets where time has stood still. Walking the final 103 kilometers (64 miles) will allow us to receive the Compostela the official certificate of completion for this epic journey. Full van support with healthy snacks will be provided. Daily maps and historical information will be given out every day, as well as comprehensive predeparture materials. This pilgrimage is designed to reawaken your senses and deepen your awareness of the beauty that surrounds you to experience the extraordinary spirit of this ancient trail.

Post El Camino
Following our walking pilgrimage, we travel by coach for four days of leisure, rest and renewal to Centro Punta de Couso, in Cangas, Spain, a guest house a short drive from Santiago, at the end of the Peninsula de Morrazo, in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia.

Centro Punta de Couso

Surrounded by pristine beaches, the house offers a spectacular setting with beautiful views and access at the beaches, forests and mountains of the Atlantic coast and the Ras de Aldan and Pontevedra.

Building Community
Under the leadership of Valerie Brown, pilgrimage leader and author, we will create an intentional community and dive deeply into the landscape, culture and spirit of this historic route, an unforgettable experience. The guest house blends in-and outdoor spaces harmoniously together. Gardens, full of herbs, scents and colors; large terraces overlooking the Rias Baixas, the Atlantic Islands and the Ocean, open to the sounds of the winds, loaded with life and secrets from far away. The house construction is built, decorated and maintained with materials, respectful of the environment. Visit their website www.puntadecouso.com at
