1133 Avenue of the Americas
New York, New York 10036
Dear Ed:
Over the past few years it has become clear that our party is in crisis. With the critical elections of 2010 on the
horizon, what we need now is leadership that will build a well funded party with the infrastructure to support our
county committees and articulate our values to the people of our state.
Our friend and colleague Joe Mondello has served our party for many years in various capacities. He deserves
our respect and gratitude for his efforts. However, the time has come for new leadership and a new direction
that will ensure our party moves into the future with renewed strength.
Each of us has had the opportunity to get to know you, your commitment to our values and your vision for a
stronger Republican Party. You have traveled the state, taking the time to listen to our county leaders and hear
about the needs of many of our county committees. You’ve spoken at events, met with committee members and
always demonstrated an appreciation for the role a strong party must play in winning elections at all levels.
As County chairmen, we are confident that you understand the need to rebuild our party from the ground up.
We also know you are committed to being a fully-engaged leader who will restore confidence in our donors,
rebuild the party apparatus, help energize our committees, and assist our candidates on their paths to victory.
We have also come to know you as someone who is willing to aggressively engage in the debate on the critical
issues we face as a state.
For these reasons we pledge our support for you to be the next Chairman of the New York Republican State
Committee. Your more than 40 years in Republican Party politics at the local, state and national levels have
made you well prepared to lead during these challenging times.
We look forward to working hard in the coming weeks to ensure that your effort is successful and together we
can quickly move forward with rebuilding the party of Lincoln here in the Empire State.
Sincerely,
