Dear Friends of WellSpring,

In late December, you often look back on the spiritual, personal, and professional events of the previous twelve months and think, Wow...that was a pretty life-changing year! Its pretty rare, however, to be convinced by mid-January that the next twelve months will be one of the most profound, life-changing years of your life. Butbelieve it or notthats exactly where we are at WellSpring. 2012 will be a year that we remember forever, sosince youre familiar with our churchI want to make sure that youre up-to-date. On Sunday morning, I announced that were launching a movement in and for our community called Putting Down Roots. This will be a key focus for us in the coming months, and it will address three main issues facing WellSpring and the Spring Hill area: 1) We need to build relational roots with our neighbors. Many of us work in different cities, and our extended families are often hours away. Its not easy, but we need to build deep, meaningful relationships right here where we live. 2) Everyone needs to be spiritually rooted to God by surrendering to (and living for) Jesus. WellSprings mission, quite simply, is: Helping People Follow Jesus. 3) Its time for WellSpring to put down roots in Spring Hill by building a permanent ministry facility. After eight years (!) of renting space for our Sunday morning worship services, were going to build a communityoriented ministry facility. Its simply one of the best ways for us to deepen spiritual and relational roots in our city, and its also a way of saying, Were here to stay, and were going to be here for your family for years to come. This movementespecially the part about building a facility on our propertywill undoubtedly raise some questions for you, particularly since WellSpring has been a church without a building for so long. The enclosed fact sheet will hopefully answer some of those questions. Rest assured that WellSprings priorities havent shifted; we havent suddenly become concerned about sticks and bricks. Quite honestly, we just feel Gods leading that its time to broaden our ministry in and for our community through an outreach-focused facility. Were interested in a building only to the extent that it helps us carry out our mission to help people follow Jesus. The most important thing that you can do right now is pray. Pray for the Putting Down Roots movement, and pray for what God may want to teach us through it. Pray for us to give our lives away so that others may also be rooted and built up in Him (Colossians 2:7). Andyesas we go forward in this movement, be praying as a family about your possible nancial involvement in helping us build this ministry facility. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to call our church ofce at 615-302-0721 and ask to speak with me or one of our elders. I look forward to seeing where God takes us in 2012! Andy Hudelson, along with the WellSpring ministry staff and elders
