~Minion Bag~

Materials Needed *H hook *Yellow Worsted * Black Worsted * Blue Worsted if you are making a boy, Pink Worsted if you are making a girl * White Worsted * Grey Worsted *White Fabric Paint- Optional Guage is not important Stitch Abbreviations: sc- single crochet hdc- half double crochet dc- double crochet ss- slip stitch ch- chain st- stitch This pattern uses a Magic Circle or ch 2 and hdc in the 2nd chain from hook. Pattern Notes: Repeat * to * as many times as indicated for each round. Ch 1 doesnt count as first stitch.

For the body of the purse. With Pink or Blue (Pink for a girl and blue for a boy) and H hook, make a Magic Circle, ch 1 Round 1: ch 1, hdc 8 in the magic circle, join with a ss to first st, tighten ring (8 hdc) Round 2: ch 1, 2 hdc in each st around, join (16 hdc)

Round 3: ch 1, *hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next* around, join (24 hdc) Round 4: ch 1, *hdc in next 2 st, 2 hdc in next* around, join (32 hdc) Round 5: ch 1, *hdc in next 3 st, 2 hdc in next* around, join (40 hdc) Round 6: ch 1, *hdc in next 4 st, 2 hdc in next* around, join (48 hdc) Round 7: ch 1, *hdc in next 5 st, 2 hdc in next* around, join (56 hdc) Round 8: ch 1, *hdc in next 6 st, 2 hdc in next* around, 2 hdc in the last stitch (you need to do this so the handle is even) join (65 hdc) Round 9-10: ch 1, hdc in each st around, join (65 hdc) *change to yellow* Round 11-19: ch 1, hdc in each st around, join (65 hdc) *change to black* Round 20-21: ch 1, hdc in each st around, join (65 hdc) *change to yellow* Round 22-25: ch 1, hdc in each st around, join (65 hdc) Now we will start making the first handle. Row 26: ch1, hdc in next 27 sts ch 1, turn (27 hdc) Row 27: skip first st, hdc across, skip last hdc, ch 1, turn (25 hdc) Row 28: skip first st, hdc across, skip last hdc, ch 1, turn (23 hdc) Row 29: skip first st, hdc across, skip last hdc, ch 1, turn (21 hdc) Row 30: skip first st, hdc across, skip last hdc, ch 1, turn (19 hdc) Row 31: skip first st, hdc across, skip last hdc, ch 1, turn (17 hdc) Row 32: skip first st, hdc across, skip last hdc, ch 1, turn (15 hdc) Row 33: skip first st, hdc across, skip last hdc, ch 1, turn(13 hdc) Row 34: skip first st, hdc across, skip last hdc, ch 1, turn (11 hdc) Row 35: skip first st, hdc across, skip last hdc, ch 1, turn (9 hdc) Row 36: skip first st, hdc across, skip last hdc, ch 1, turn (7 hdc) Row 37: skip first st, hdc across, skip last hdc, ch 1, turn (5 hdc) Row 38- 47: hdc across, ch1, turn (5 hdc) Row 48: hdc across, fasten off (5 hdc) Now we will be working on the second part of the handle. Count over 5 sts from the last st on row 26 of the first handle. Attatch yellow yarn to that stitch. Now work the same as you did for the first part of the handle (row 26-48). Sew the top pieces of the handles together.

Edging Rnd (RS): For this rnd you can use yellow, pink or blue its up to you. I used yellow. Ch 1, turn, sl st evenly around edge of handles and top of purse; join with sl st in first sl st. Fasten off.

EYES (make one or two depending on desired look) H hook With white, make a magic circle Round 1: work 8 hdc into magic circle, pull tight, join Round 2 :ch 1, work 2 hdc in each st around, join, change to grey Round 3: ch 1, *sc in 1st st, 2 sc in next* around, join Round 4: ch 1, in FRONT LOOPS ONLY(that way it is easier to sew the eyes on the bag), reverse sc around, join, fasten off leaving tail for sewing to I crocheted 2 circles for the middle of the eyes, but you can use black buttons if you want. To make the circles use black yarn and an H hook. Make one or two depending on how many eyes you want. With black make a magic circle Round 1: 6 sc, join with a sl st, fasten off. Sew the black circle onto the middle of of the white of the eye. If you want to this is where I used the white fabric paint on the eyes. I added 2 small v shapes to the top right side of the black on the eyes. Let the paint dry before you sew the eyes on. With one eye, sew in center front of bag. With two, sew to front of bag evenly. Using black, embroider on smile. You can make a full or half smile depending on the look you want. BOW, for girl minion only Use pink yarn and H hook You will be working on both sides for this. ch 11 Round 1: dc in 2nd ch from hook, dc in each st around, dc 7 in the last st, dc in each stitch on the other side, dc 6 in the last st, join, fasten off, weave in ends. Pinch center of bow down and wrap with yarn to desired look, fasten off leaving tail, sew to purse in desired position.
