Hi All, Writing this to throw some light on call flows when MNP(Mobile Number Portability) will be implemented in India

!here is one "ery interesting a full form of MNP floating in industry #Mu$he Nahi Pata#, hope after reading this we will be able to say goodbye to that %) &efore coming to the point i would li'e to elaborate some terms which will used later in e(plaination )) MNP*&++, Mobile Number Portability *atabase, where in all details of subscriber is stored -) Ported In./ut++, Ported In./ut subscriber are those which ha"e changed there 0er"ice pro"ider 1(p% A was originally Airtel 0ubscriber and a"ailed MNP and changed to 2odafone so A will be Ported in number for 2odafone and Ported out Number for Airtel !hese terms are enough to get a feel of normal mobile to mobile in MNP

Here i ha"e ta'en e(ample to 2odafone *elhi where 0ubscriber A in M03) and 0ubscriber & in 3o"erage of M034et us now go through signaling flow in steps% )) 0ubscriber A dials 0ubscriber & -) M03) recei"es & number and 05I is sent to MNP ser"er instead of H45 as in case of traditional call flow 6) MNP chec's its database and founds that this is own subscriber and relays that 05I to H45 7) H45 on recei"ing 05I chec' the 245 address of subscriber and send P5N to M038) In response to P5N M03- returns with M05N 9) H45 forward that M05N number to M03) in 05I 5esponse Message :) M05N is now dialled out from M03) to M03- to establish the "oice path between two M03s After this call flow remains same as in case of traditional call flow which is already posted in this blog
