1. A steel bar 900 mm long. Its two ends are 40 mm and 30 mm in diameter and the length
of each rod is 200 mm. the middle portion of the bar is 15 mm in diameter and 500 mm
long. If the bar is subjected to an axial tensile load of 15 KN, determine 1) stress in the each
section 2) total extension. [Take E=20010N/mm2]

aluminium and steel are 24x10e-6/k, 12x10e-6/k respectively.
