November 28, 2013

To: Pastors, Elders, Church Clerks, Superintendents, Personal Ministries & Community Services Leaders TO BE READ IN THE CHURCH Dear Brothers and Sisters: Re - continued Preparation for METRO MISSION 14 Brotherly Greetings! God has blessed us tremendously in this the Year of the Laity! Our 2013 baptismal and discipleship records, as well as the significant occasions and gestures which feature the laity in leadership and ministry at every level summon responses of gratitude and praise. We commend you lay leaders for the magnificent contributions you are making to the cause of Christ in this year. We are coming out of the recent Festival of the Laity highly charged and Ignited by His Power. Camp Meeting 2013 will be one with a difference, conducted by the Laity a most fitting climax to conclude the programmes of this historic year. The beginning of each year is a special time that we embrace every opportunity to keep the correct focus and emphasis on the mission of Christ and the Church. We are now in the advanced stages of preparation for the largest and most ambitious evangelistic programme ever attempted by the Church our Mission to the City Initiative, being dubbed, METRO MISSION 2014 - Hope for the City. We cannot afford to allow anything to distract us at this time. Every soldier is to be a true sentinel. Each of us must, with sincere heart, enquire of the Lord: What will you have me to do? METRO MISSION OFFERING - Dec 7, 2013 Beginning with this special national sacrificial offering being requested by the union on Sabbath, December 7, 2013, we should each individually start to commit our own monies to be put into the programme of soul winning. We can make pledges to give weekly or monthly offerings. Please see form attached. Intensify MM 14 Preparation The Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Department, with all its subsidiaries and extension ministries and offices, such as the Lay Evangelistic Association, Community Services Federation, Prison and /2

Hospital Ministries, Interest Coordinators and Bible instructors play a critical role in this programme. We must, without competition, yoke ourselves with others and approach the challenges as a united force. We must be intentional and strategic. Nothing else should eclipse our attention. Every day must me a missionary day. Each Sabbath should be a day to assess our level of Preparation, and to motivate each other to faithfulness. We are calling on our Sabbath School and Personal Ministries leaders to ensure that prime time is being used to gather the relevant reports and testimonies and to share them with the entire congregation each Sabbath. The Personal Ministries time, (10 Minutes), should not be used for sermonizing but for reporting, recruiting and deployment of members into field work. Weekly Progress Report A weekly progress report must be generated every Sabbath. This should be shared with the Church and also sent to the Conference. Please see the attached report form. Strategies to be employed We need now to unite, to design and implement significant community humanitarian projects. We are to ensure that each cluster and each church coordinating committee is fully engaged. Plan and implement a grand spiritual convocation to launch into the final phase of MM 14 preparation. Door to Door evangelistic and friendly work should now be the order of the day. A Bible School is to be established in and by every congregation. Many evangelistic Small Groups should now be formed and activated. Pre-registration of prospects should begin at least six weeks before each reaping campaign. Lets begin with our family members, friends, co-work, professionals, colleagues and members of our communities. Lets begin to plan our diaries that we will be able to attend all or most of the nightly meetings, to be conducted in our clusters. Most of all, let us intensify our prayer life. This one goeth out not but by prayer and fasting. Ellen G. Whites counsel is most relevant Evangelistic work must occupy more and still more of the time of Gods servants. So, come lets do it together through the power of the Holy Spirit. May God bless us together, as we rally to the programme. Yours in the Masters Service,

CMCunningham
