Introduction
1.1
1.2
It is the companys endeavor to secure a high standard of safety on our sites therefore,
contractors and sub-contractors must know their duties under common law, both for
establishments and their own employees and to conduct their business and methods of
work to confirm to the best practices.
1.3
Before the client / company allows any contracting or sub-contracting firm to carryout
work on its premises, the company insists that contractors and sub-contractors
understand their duties regarding safe practices for themselves, others and regulations
covering the type of work they will be carrying out.
1.4
In furtherance to this policy, rules herein have been devised to bring to the notice of
Contractors, and sub-contractors some of the more common hazards, and appropriate
preventive measures in connection with the erection, construction, cleaning, painting,
alteration or demolition of plant, machinery and building.
1.5
The client is confident that the observance of these rules will be no hindrance to the
progress of the work, but will assist in the avoidance of accidents.
1.6
1.7
Section 2 details general rules, which are applicable to most contractors and subcontractors.
1.8
Section 3 details specific rules, which must be followed where applicable, where a
particular type of work is to be undertaken.
1.9
All contractor Supervisors will make sure that the engineering services / Safety Manager
on company sites are notified as and when he and others (sub-contractors) are reporting
for work on that site.

BATTERY RACKS
Battery racks shall be constructed from good quality teakwood and painted with two
coats of approved alkali resisting paint. The construction of the racks unless otherwise
mentioned in Data Sheet-A shall be suitable for fixing to a flat concrete floor. The racks
shall be rigid, freestanding type and free from warp and twist. The completed racks shall

temperature compared to that tat standard temperature of 27O C. If any special ventilation
requirements are necessary, the same shall be indicated.
6.0 CAPACITY
The standard ampere-hour capacity at ten hour rate of discharge of the battery has been
based on the requirements of loads mentioned in Data Sheet-A and the minimum
ambient temperature specified. BIDDER SHALL Guarantee that the capacity of the
battery offered by him is adequate for the duty specified (all loads being co-incident
from the instant of supply failure even at the minimum ambient temperature specified in
