Introduction
Shat Am Tuat is the book of what is in the tuat. Tuat is an ancient Egyptian term for worlds
that exist in dimensions of time and space other than what most modern humans consider
physical reality.
These other worlds have historically been thought of as the place of heavens and hells, and
the abodes of gods, devas and angels - the other side. Today even science approaches these
realms, as quantum physics and superstring theory point to a universe of many more dimensions
than the Newtonian scientific model accounts for.
Shat Am Tuat and its counterpart, a text called The Book of Gates, came from a common
original text, now lost, long covered by the sands of time. Egyptologists refer to them separately;
however, occultists refer to both texts as either Shat Am Tuat or Book of Gates, and consider
them to be derived from the same source. The gates referred to are the chakras a person's con-
sciousness passes through on the way to and through the other worlds.
The actual texts known today are only shadows of a once whole knowledge of the other world.
The oldest copies of Shat Am Tuat/Book of Gates are found on the walls of the tombs of
Thothmes III, Amen-Hetep II, and Amen-Hetep III, at Thebes. The most complete version is
found in the tomb of Seti I at Thebes.

Introduction
None of these versions, however, do justice to the original knowledge because they do not con-
tain the sounds of the magick words that open up and allow passage through the gates of the
tuat. In fact those words of power were only given to initiates in the Egyptian priesthoods down
through the ages. The hieroglyphs became alive with the intonation of the magickal seed syl-
lables. Fortunately for us there are still esoteric traditions that use these mantras and transmit
this knowledge from initiate to initiate.
The importance of Shat Am Tuat/Book of Gates is that it was meant to be a guide to the other
world for the living as well as for the dead. Egyptologists have largely missed this point, and
interpreted ancient Egyptian cultures as being obsessed with death and the afterlife. But, really,
this was and is a practical road map and instruction manual about how to get to and navigate in
the tuat with the appropriate keys (the magick words), without having to die to do it.
What I present here is a contemporary version of the practices and knowledge contained in
Shat Am Tuat/Book of Gates. This is your link to the quantum world.

What is the Tuat?
The tuat is comprised of dimensions of time and space at least as vast as our physical universe.
Every culture has had its encounters with this other world region, and has developed from these
experiences a religious structure of myth and ritual to attempt to explain the phenomenon.
A survey of religious texts from various cultures shows how each has imprinted its own my-
thology on to the tuat to explain and categorize the phenomenon that has been encountered
throughout the ages. In the west, the tuat is referred to popularly as the astral plane. Buddhists
refer to it as the bardo, or the regions of stod and bar. Hindu traditions divide the tuat into a
series of levels called lokas.
For the purposes of this book, we will describe the tuat with four main divisions: etheric, astral,
mental, and causal.
As an example of a more detailed break-down, some Hindu sects divide the tuat into fourteen
lokas (dimensions) with a kosha or body, that is, a specific part of human consciousness, that
inhabits each loka. Below is a version with seven of these divisions and the chakra they relate
