UGA GRADUATE SURVEY The Career Center is conducting a survey of recent UGA graduates for our annual Graduate Survey. To complete the survey, please visit our website at www.ugagradsurvey.com. PURCHASING ANALYST JOB AT CATERPILLAR JOB DUTIES: -Determine material and component requirements, analyze production schedules and demand, analyze existing stock, and create material requirements and schedules.

-Create and place orders with suppliers and purchasing department or for internally produced components, schedule work of 1st operation area and place orders with them -Plan own production of components at first and second operation area The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others. Typical internal customers include a Department or Business/Service Unit in a Division. The position's primary customers are internal. The position participates in brainstorming sessions focused on developing new approaches to meeting quality goals in the measure(s) stated. Most of the problems faced by the position are similar to those faced before and follow a pattern. The incumbent resolves issues by selecting the best solution from a few choices. The team or supervisor gives general instructions on what needs to be done, when it needs to be done and how it is typically done. The jobholder knows in advance the details of what needs to be done to serve customers and the standard procedures in place to accomplish it. They can change different parts of the standard approach to serve customers best, but cannot add or delete procedures without approval. The team or supervisor reviews work as it is being done and after it is completed. Impacts key quality goals including Timeliness, Cost Savings, etc. The position participates in brainstorming sessions focused on developing new approaches to meeting quality goals in the measure(s) stated. BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE: The position requires knowledge of various purchasing and materials systems, receiving report processing, and state and federal shipping regulations. Facility in a foreign language may be required. The position typically requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience. In addition, one to two years of job-related experience are typically required. Jobholder initiates communication with others outside immediate work group to work on new ideas or to counsel others, etc. The ability to listen to others is important to the job. The NYC Teaching Fellows program is preparing a critical mass of exceptional teachers committed to a better future for the NYC students. Their teachers go where they are needed the most they teach in urban neighborhoods, where too many children have fallen behind and are struggling to catch up. Fellows who successfully complete the program become full-time teachers within a few months of enrolling. They participate in an innovative, practice-based summer training program and then earn a subsidized master's degree in education while teaching in a New York City public school. Fellows for the 2014 program will train to teach critical need subject areas which may include math, science, and special education. Who Can Apply?
