To Whom It May Concern: It is with the greatest pleasure that I provide this letter of recommendation for Ms. Jillian Varner. Jillian was a student of mine in the music department of the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Schools for seven years, having participated in multiple facets of our high school music program, as well as our Middle School program. She since went on to Ohio University to pursue a degree in education, and she now teaches the flute section of our nationally recognized Bellbrook High School Marching Eagles. Jillian was a key member in the success of both our marching band and wind ensemble during her high school career at Bellbrook, having served faithfully as a quiet leader and great example to other members of her section, and as the principal player in our flute section during concert band. She also studied her instrument privately throughout high school. Since first becoming her teacher while she was in middle school, I have become very well acquainted with this student and her family, and I can confidently say that this is a high quality individual with outstanding personal, professional, and musical traits. Jillian not only possesses rare talent musically, but also displays dedication, work ethic, perseverance and passion for her chosen interests. Jillian was voluntarily a participant in almost every facet of the school music program available to her in high school, including Marching Band, Flute Choir, Wind Ensemble, Solo and Ensemble festival, Pep Band, and Pit Orchestra. In addition, Jillian participated in (and still participates in) many local theater productions as a flutist in pit orchestras. Since high school graduation, Jillian has served as a musical and visual staff member for our competitive marching band at Bellbrook High School, and in this capacity, she is an excellent teacher and motivator for our students, who also displays the highest levels of dedication and responsibility toward our program and our students. Jillian earned great respect from her peers and teachers during both high school and college for her musicianship and leadership by example. Jillian is not an individual who will settle for less than her personal bes t, and motivates others to behave similarly. Needless to say, this is a student of whom I am very proud.
