Welcome to Games Workshops 2008 Citadel
Miniatures Collectors Catalogue
W
elcome to our first attempt to create a catalogue
specifically covering showpiece models and dioramas,
and alternative and unusual miniatures, together with the very
best of our extensive historic archive. As such the Collectors
range is intended to both complement and supplement our
main ranges which aim to provide all the essential troops
types, characters and machinery required to assemble an army
for Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000 or build forces to play
our The Lord of The Rings game. In selecting models for the
Collectors range we have used three main criteria as
explained below.
Showpiece models are display pieces, often dioramas or set-
pieces, primarily intended for painting and display rather than
gaming. Although this is a small part of the Collectors range at
the moment we hope to add more showpiece models over
time.
Alternative models are metal alternatives to plastic models in
the main range, or alternative character variants too numerous
and varied to include in the main Catalogue. Some of these
models have been drawn from previously discontinued ranges
but compare well in quality to modern designs others are
brand new additions to the Collectors range.
Historic models are slices of Citadels history they are
models that remain popular amongst collectors either because
they have special significance as design landmarks (such as
the Armour Through The Ages) or because they are charming,
characterful or just plain quirky. Generally speaking, these
models do not match the quality of modern designs and they
are often significantly smaller.
Citadel has been manufacturing cast metal miniatures for
almost 30 years and during that time we have produced
many thousands of different designs. Although the original
rubber moulds used to make the miniatures wear out and
perish over time, a carefully assembled archive of metal
master models is maintained enabling us to recreate many
old classics. Sadly, the archives are not 100% complete by
any means. Some of the production methods used in the early
days utilised conversions of the masters which were then
destroyed during the moulding process. Other masters have
been lost or damaged over time. Models designed to be cast
in old-fashioned lead alloys may be impractical to cast using
modern lead-free alloys and equipment. A proportion of our
older models were produced under licenses that are no longer
valid. Even so, we have an accessible archive of something
like 16,000 different individual cast pieces.
Our policy is to maintain a catalogue of Collectors models of
a size that we can reliably manufacture and supply. We cant
hope to make all of our entire archives available at once, so
instead we will cycle through our back-catalogues, dropping
pieces where demand is low and adding pieces that are
commonly asked for or which we think will be popular.
Although models will always be retained in the range if there
is genuine demand we cannot guarantee that any models
will be available year after year and would suggest that
serious collectors make purchases whilst models are available
rather than taking a chance.
Our Collectors range is growing all the time as we add new
models or recommission moulds from our archives. The
complete and up-to-date catalogue will therefore be found on
our web-site at www.games-workshop.com.

How to Purchase Items from this Catalogue
You can order your items in Games Workshop stores. Information for ordering Games Workshop products directly from
us, via our online store or by phone, can be found and the end of this catalogue.
Each product in the 2008 Collectors Catalogue is identified by a title (in bold) and an 11-digit code. Please quote these
when ordering. Below are some examples from the Warhammer 40,000 section.
About the Models
Most of the models in this catalogue are shown
painted. All models are supplied unpainted. All
miniatures are shown at ACTUAL SIZE, unless
otherwise noted. All models that require a base are
supplied with the correct plastic Citadel miniature
slottabase.
The models shown in this catalogue are shown
assembled. This is not how they are supplied. All
models will require some assembly. Most models
require nothing more complicated than affixing the
miniature to its plastic base.
Components
Many of our miniatures are supplied as single figures.
Where models are supplied in sets, we have listed the
contents under the product name and code. An example
of this is shown below.

Sculpted by Juan Diaz in 2004, the model depicts Tehenhauin as the living vengeance of his kind against those that
desecrate the lands of the Lizardmen. He carries the Blade of the Serpents Tongue, and is surrounded by a swarm of
serpents, beasts of the jungle that are drawn to him and follow him everywhere. The still-beating heart of a Skaven is held
aloft, a sacrifice to Sotek.
Showpiece
The strange and dangerous worlds of Warhammer and
Warhammer 40,000 come to life under the sculptors
touch! We let our expert designers loose to explore the
Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 background
universes however they liked free from the constraint
of making miniatures strictly for the gaming table. It has
proven an interesting challenge and here we see only
the very first of what we hope will become a popular
series with top painters and serious collectors.
Sculpted by Dave Thomas, this beautifully detailed vignette depicts a Warrior Priest blessing the rifle of a Handgunner on the
eve of battle, appealing to Sigmar to guide his aim. This miniature depicts a scene of reverence and piety.

tabletop as part of a Warhammer army although the
range also includes many superb examples of the
sculptors art that would be worthy of the most
dedicated painter or diorama builder. Many of the
models on these pages include characters with weapon
variants or characters riding unusual mounts, where

Old One Eye

Old One Eye was a Tyranid creature of the Carnifex genus recovered from the ice-packs of Calth in the
empire of Ultramar. Its release from the ice heralded a series of Tyranid raids on that world. The
eventual fate of Old One Eye is unknown, but there have been several other reports of lone, injured
Carnifexes on other worlds which proved to be just as deadly. Old One Eye would make a great

merchants during the time of disastrous famines and widespread revolts that
preceded the birth of the Republic. Their armour is the best that money can
buy, embellished with gems and gold plate, which is the ideal way for a
soldier of fortune to look good and carry his wealth close to him!
The famous regiment of Besiegers was originally employed by the ingenious Borgio
'The Besieger', Prince of Miragliano, as a special siege unit of crossbowmen.
Braganza's Besiegers motto is short and to the point: "Invincibility at no extra charge!"

Pirazzo's Lost Legion are all that remains of the expedition sent to Lustria by
the merchants of Tobaro. The regiment was one of three recruited in Tobaro
from among the reckless and poverty-stricken youths of the city. Many

The crossbow has always been the favoured missile weapon in Tilea. One
of the most famous regiments to use the crossbow is known simply, but
aptly, as the Marksmen. It is said that every member of the Marksmen of
Miragliano is capable of piercing a coin at a range of 300 paces.
Lumpin Croop ended up in charge of this band of halflings after he told
a tale of lands that promised riches beyond belief. The problem was he
had no idea where to find them! Since that day he has been trying to
give the Fighting Cocks the slip. However, his sudden disappearances
only encourage his men's skills as they tirelessly track him down and
insist that he take them with him.
Ruglud Bonechewer is a powerful and wealthy Orc mercenary who sells his
services all across the known world. Ruglud's battle-cry: Gobbos fer dinner!

The insidious Mengil Manhide and his Manflayers
are a dreaded menace who kill and maim for
pleasure. Adorned with the flayed skins of their
victims, they are a fearsome sight. But they are not
beyond the needs of money, and will sell their
expertise to the highest bidder.
Tichi-Huichi's destiny was clear. It was he who had been chosen to
go out into the wider regions to find and bring back the relics
which the Old Ones had shown him in his dreams. Following his
instinct and allowing the thoughts of those greater than himself to
direct his plans, Tichi-Huichi has set out, leading his fine regiment
of Cold One Riders to recover the sacred items from his visions.
Long Drong Slayer has a hook hand, peg leg, eyepatch, long red plaited beard, pistols
stuffed down his breeches and a parrot on his shoulder which says "bits o' gold, bits o'
gold" all the time. His crew are a swarthy bunch of rogues who are proud to fight under
the skull and crossbones flag. They are also festooned with pistols, creating a hurricane of
destruction when they are fired at the enemy!

These dynamic models depict the final moments of the Witch-king before
owyn, Shield Maiden of Rohan and niece of King Thoden delivers the
mortal blow, robbing the army of Mordor of their dark general. The loyal
Hobbit, Merry, is also close by - together he and owyn stood firm against
the Witch-king of Angmar and avenged the death of Thoden. With the
Witch-king destroyed, the forces of good won the day.
