MATERIALS NEEDED PATTERN PAPER TAPE MEASURE L-SQUARE FRENCH CURVE RULER PENCIL WITH ERASER PAIR OF SCISSOR
A. DRAFTING THE FRONT BODICE
PROCEDURE: 1. Draw a perpendicular lines. 2. A is the corner of the two lines. 3. AB is 3 inches downward for neck depth. 4. AC is 5 inches downward for chest line. 5. AD is of bust measurement. 6. AE is figure length measurement. 7. Draw the horizontal lines for A, B, C, D, and E. 8. AF is 3 inches to the right. 9. AG is shoulder measurement. 10. GH is 1 inches down, connect FB using French curve. 11. C I is of chest measurement, connect HI with the line. 12. DJ is bust measurement + 1 inch to the right. 13. EK is of the waist measurement + 1 to the right, connect JK with a line. 14. AD1 is bust height measure downward. 15. D1 to L is of bust distance to the right, draw vertical lines. 16. D1 to L is equal to EM, Measure 5/8 inch on both sides of M. Connect the marks with L to manifest the waist dart. 17. KN is inch upward, connect MN using hip curve. DRAFTING THE BACK BODICE PROCEDURE: 1. Draw perpendicular line 2. A is corner of two lines. 3. AB is inch downward for neck depth 4. AC is 5 inches downward 5. AD is bust measurement 6. Draw the horizontal lines for A, B, C, D, and E. 7. AF is 3 inches to the right. 8. AG is of shoulder measurement. 9. GH is 1 inches downward. Connect FB with a curve line. Connect FH with a line. 10. CI is of chest back width measurement. Connect HI 11. DJ is bust measurement. Connect HIJ using French curve. 12. EK is of waist measurement + 1 inches. Connect JK. 13. ADI is bust height + I inch upward. 14. DI to L is bust distance horizontally to the right plus 1 inch upward. Draw a vertical line downward. 15. DI to L is equal to EM. Measure 5/8 inch on both sides of M. Connect themarks with L to show the back waist dart. 16. KN is inch upward. Connect D with M using hip c
B. DRAFTING THE FRONT BLOUSE BASED ON THE FRONT BODICE
PATTERN Measurements Needed: Length of Blouse1st Hip 2nd HipPROCEDURE : 1. Cut pattern E B F H I J N M E. 2. Trace the pattern in another pattern paper including the dart. 3. Transfer letters A E J M N 4. YB is 3/4 inch. Draw a line O downward parallel to BE. 5. EQ is 4down from the first hip. 6. AP is the length of the blouse. Draw a horizontal line for O and P. 7. NT is 1 inch to the right. 8. OQ is of first hip measurement +1 inch to the right. 9. PR is of second hip measurement +1 inch to the right. 10. RS is inch upward. Connect S with P using hip curve. 11. Extend M to line O. Corner of MO is U. 12. Connect U and M to produce double dart. 13. Remove the front bodice pattern.
DRAFTING THE BACK BLOUSE BASED ON THE BACK BODICE PATTERN
PROCEDURE : 1. Trace the back bodice pattern including the waist dart. Put weights or pins. Transfer letters A E J M N L. 2. EO is 4 inches down for the first hipline. 3. AP is the length of blouse downward. Draw horizontal lines for O and P to the left side. 4. OQ is first hip + inch to the left. 5. PR is second hip measurement + inch to the left. 6. NT is inch to the left. Connect ITQ and R using hip curve. 7. RS is inch upward. Connect S with P using hip curve. 8. Extend M to line O. 9. Corner of MO is U. Connect U between M to manifest a double dart. 10. Remove the back bodice
C.DRAFTING THE SLEEVES
Measurements Needed : Armhole Sleeve length Arm girth PROCEDURE : 1. Combine the measurement of the front and back armhole. Divide it by 2. 2. Draw perpendicular lines. 3. A is corner of two lines. 4. AB is 5 inches downward. 5. AC is the length of sleeve downward. Draw horizontal lines for ABC. 6. AD is of armhole measurement to the right. 7. CE is of arm girth to the right +1 inch. Connect DE. 8. F is corner BD. Connect AF. 9. AF measurement = H 2 10. AG measurement = H upward 2 11. GF measurement = I + inch downward. Connect AGF with a French curve. 2 12. Cut from A to C, C to E, E to F, then to G and to A.
C. DRAFTING THE COLLAR
Measurements Needed : Neckline PROCEDURE : 1. Combine the measurement of the front and back neckline. Divide it by 2. 2. Draw perpendicular lines. 3. A is corner of two lines. 4. AB is 3 inches. 5. BC is neckline measurement. 6. CD is inch. 7. EF is inch. 8. EI is inch. 9. Connect H I G with hip curve. 10. Connect JD with hip curve. 11. Cut A B J D G H A.
