The Pre-School Committee invites children toddlers5K (older siblings are welcome), to an Easter egg hunt on Sunday, March 24 at 4:00 p.m. This will be held at the home of the Crueas, 2121 Shady Lane, 29206. Please email Courtney at cpcurnias@yahoo.com for information and if you would like to help. There will be 2,000 eggs to find, a visit from the Easter bunny and the Easter story! Eastminsters own Amos Disasa will speak at the Tuesday, March 26, meeting of Savvy Seniors at noon in Thompson Hall. Born in Ethiopia, he attended Eastminster as a child with his parents and returned years later as associate minister. He is now founding pastor of Downtown Church and will talk about his work there, as well as projects his congregation has launched at Bethel Evangelical Secondary School (B.E.S.S.) in Africa.

An Eastminster Blood Drive will be held on Sunday, March 17, from 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the CLC parking lot. Look for the Blood Mobile! The gratification is instant. Give Blood! The Flower Guild is accepting memorials and honoraria for Easter lilies to decorate the sanctuary for Easter. Please write the wording you wish to have printed in the bulletin and enclose a check for $15.00 made out to the Eastminster Flower Guild for each lily. Checks may be mailed to the church or placed in the Flower Guild box in the workroom. Forms are available in the reception area. The deadline for your order is Monday, March 18 . Lilies may be removed by the donor from the sanctuary after the 10:30 a.m. service on Easter. Over the past year, Eastminster has given 25 lbs. of soda can (and other aluminum) tabs to Ronald McDonald House. It takes quite a number of tabs to make a pound. All are appreciated. There is a vase in Mary Baldaufs office for the tabs. Please save and contribute. Ronald McDonald House uses money from the tabs to provide lodging and meals for families of children in Palmetto Health (Richland) Childrens Hospital.

The 2013 Eastminster Senior High Urban Mission Trip will be in Nashville, TN. The total cost of this trip is $320.00 which includes transportation, lodging, programming, and the majority of meals. Scholarships are available. Please return your registration and the full payment by Friday, April 5, 2013. (If you have misplaced your form, additional forms are available on Tricias desk.) Check out the BOGO sales and bring your peanut butter jar(s) to church with you on Sunday, March 24. Amazing how one jar collected with others becomes tons of peanut butter for Harvest Hope. We collected 856 (all inclusive) pounds of food in February!

Update for March 17, 2013

Please join the Fellowship Committee for a Covered Dish Lunch on Easter Sunday, March 31, in the Adult Reception Hall following the 10:30 a.m. worship services. This is an intergenerational event for members who are not traveling or eating elsewhere to share in an Easter meal together. We hope to have a hymn-sing afterwards and some other activities for fellowship. Last Names: A-G, bring either a salad or vegetable; H-R, bring either rice, pasta, or potato dish; and S-Z, bring a dessert. Please bring enough to feed 10 people. The meat (ham and fried chicken) is being provided by several members, and the church is furnishing the drinks. Please register (name; phone number; E-mail; food item; number and names in party) by Sunday, March 23, 2013. Registration forms will be located in the Narthex on Sunday mornings, and in the church receptionists area each day. Fill out a form and leave it in the adjacent basket; or sign up electronically in the E-News.
