The completed Pea Babe made by Emil is shown in the top pictures. It will be about 15 cm (6 inches) high. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Supplies~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~For the pictured Pea Babe Emil used Katia Nilo and Marks & Kattens Bianca but you can use any fingering weight yarn (example 50g/170-180m per skein) You will need lime and peach yarn. ~A good choice of cotton yarn is Sandness Mandarin Petit or Dalegarn Cotton or Ornaghi Filatis Echo ~Or you can use any other yarn you like. Just make sure to adjust the size of the hook and use bigger or smaller buttons for the eyes as needed. ~ bright green yarn for necklace and leaves ~ 1.75 mm Inox hook (or the correct size for your yarn ~ you want to make sure that your crochet stitches are fairly tight so that your stuffing does not show) ~ stuffing ~ buttons or beads for eyes (Emil used 9mm safety eyes)

~ The model in progress was made by Zodwollop using a 1.25 mm clover steel hook and two strands of acrylic punch thread (flesh and icy green). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~Stitches ~ ~ sc = single crochet ~ dec = decrease (do 2 sc together / pull a loop through 2 sc , yarn over and draw through both stitches) ~ inc = increase (do 2sc in the same stitch) ~ ch = chain ~ sl st = slip stitch All rows are done in rounds (except the necklace and leaves) do not turn your work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Body Using lime (or desired body color)

Place a marker at the end of each row. (a piece of scrap yarn works well) Round 2~ 2 sc in each stitch (16 sc) Round 3~ (1 sc, 1 inc) 8 times (24 sc)

Round 4~ (2sc,1 inc) 8 times (32 sc) Round 5~ (3 sc, 1 inc) 8 times (40 sc) Round 6~ (4 sc, 1 inc) 8 times (48 sc) Round 7~ (5 sc, 1 inc) 8 times (56 sc) Round 8-17 ~sc in each around (56 sc) Round 18~ (dec, 12 sc) 4 times (52 sc) Round 19-20 ~ sc in each sc around (52 sc) Round 21 ~(dec,11 sc) 4 times (48 sc) Round 22-23~ Sc in each sc around (48 sc) Round 24~ (dec,10sc) 4 times (44 sc) Round 25~ Sc in each sc around (44 sc) Round 26:~ (dec,9sc) 4 times (40sc) Round 27~ sc in each sc around (40 sc) Round 28~(dec,8sc) 4 times ( 36sc) Round 29~(dec, 3 sc, dec, 2sc) x 4 (28 sc) Round 30-31~ sc in each sc around (28sc)

Head Change to peach (or desired face color) Round 32~(1sc,2sc in next sc) repeat to end of round (42) Round 33~(2sc,2sc in next sc) repeat to end (56sc) Round 34-41~ sc in each sc around, slip stitch in last sc. (56 sc) Stuff the body.

Change to lime ( or desired body color) Hat Chain 1 at the beginning of round 42 Round 42- 46 ~ sc in each sc around (56 sc) if you are going to use safety eyes, place those now, look the middle stitch of face in round 36 or 37 and 2 sc to left from the middle stitch(left eye),2sc to right from the middle sc(right eye) ( I used black safety eyes size 9mmround)

Stuff the head almost full. Round 47 ~ ( dec, 5sc) 8 times (48 sc) Round 48 ~ (dec, 4sc) 8 times (40 sc) Round 49 ~ (dec, 3sc) 8 times (32 sc) Round 50 ~ sc in each sc around (32 sc) Round 51 ~ (dec, 2sc) 8 times (24 sc) Round 52 ~ ( dec, 1 sc) 8 times (16 sc) Round 53 ~ dec until opening is closed. Stuff as you go. Leave a long tail (20 cm/ 8 inches or so).Fasten off. Make a few knots. Hide the tail inside the head.

Now You have done the Body and the Head, WUPPII =))))) Arms ~ Make 2
In peach (or desired face color)

Round 1~ do 6sc in a magic ring (6sc) Round 2 ~ 2 sc in each sc (12sc) Round 3 ~ (1sc, 1 inc) around (18sc) Round 4-6: Sc in each sc around (18sc) Change color to body color(lime or desired color) Round 7 - 16 ~ Sc in each sc (18 sc) Fasten off. Leave about an 8 inch tail. Stuff lightly. Sew closed. Sew arms to the body. (place at the top of the body color) Hide the tails inside the body. Legs ~ Make 2 In Lime (or desired body color)

Round 1-3 ~ repeat rows 1-3 of hands (18sc) Round 4-10 ~ sc around (18 sc) Fasten off. Leave about an 8 inch tail. Stuff lightly. Sew feet to the bottom of the body (around row 6 or 7)

Now the Pea-babe is almost finished !!!!! Necklace Row 1 ~ Chain 40 Row 2 ~ sc in 2nd chain from hook. Sc in each chain to end End off. The Leaves Middle Leaf (make 1) Row 1 ~ chain 11 Row 2 ~ sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc in next ch, 7 dc, 2sc, chain 1 turn ~ you will now work on the opposite side of the 11 chains ~ 2 sc,7dc,2sc End off. Leave a long tail. Smaller leaf (make 2 smaller leaves and put these two on both sides of the middle leaf) Row 1 ~ chain 9 Row 2 ~sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1sc,5dc,2sc, chain 1 turn ~you will now work on the opposite side of the 9 chains ~ 2sc,5dc,2sc End off. Leave a long tail. Sew the leaves together. Sew to the middle of the necklace. Leaves for Hat Make one middle leaf and two smaller leaves. Sew them together. Then sew the bunch to the top of the hat.

Spiral-tail ~ chain 40 (or desired length), 1 dc in 3rd chain from hook, 3more dc in same chain, 4dc in every chain to end . Fasten off. Leave a long tail. Sew on hat close to the leaves. Emil used bright pink for the body (and ruffle) instead of green. Otherwise the pattern is the same except for an added skirt. Skirt Row 1 ~ chain 61 Row 2~ 1sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1slipstich in every chain to the end of the row, turn Row 3 ~ chain 3, 2dc in first stitch, sl st stitch next st , (3 dc in next st, 1 sl st in next st) repeat to end of row. End off. Leave a long tail for sewing. Sew ruffle to body (around row 12 or 13) joining ends in back. Hide the tails inside the body. We hope you had fun making your Pea Babes.
