Important instructions for admission of the following program under LUCSAT -
2009:

• Master of Computer Application (MCA)

Important Information for Programmes of LUCSAT -2009:

Application forms of B.C.A.; M.C.A; P.G.D.C.A. admission are available on the
website of University of Lucknow, Lucknow www.lkouniv.ac.in from: 1 June, 2009
(Monday) . The form will be downloadable from the web site of Lucknow University
only.
Application form must be submitted by Registered Post/Speed Post only
along-with demand draft worth Rs. 700/- for Gen/OBC Candidates and Rs. 350
for SC/ST Candidates in favor of “Finance Officer, University of Lucknow”,
Lucknow, Xerox copies of certificates/Mark Sheets and Two Self addressed Envelops
size (27x12cm) duly stamped worth Rs.30/-. No application form shall be accepted by
hand.
Deadline to received duly filled application form by the Chairman,
LUCSAT -2009 is June 30, 2009.

Master of Computer Application (MCA)

(Six Semester Self-Financing Programme)

THE PROGRAMME:
Emphasis on application development by incorporating soft development skills.
Postgraduate degree program in computer application is a Six semester intensive
program in computer application stream. The primary emphasis in MCA is on
designing information systems for various organizations such as banks, insurance
companies, hotels, hospitals etc. Development of application software in diverse areas
where computers are used will be the main function of MCA graduates. The major
thrust is on giving the students a sound background in computing, business function,
mathematics related to information technology.

ELIGIBILITY:
B.Sc. (Computer Science / Computer Application / Information Technology) or
B.C.A. of minimum three year duration with a minimum of 45% marks for Gen/OBC
and 40% marks for SC/ST and Mathematics as one of the subject at Intermediate /
Higher Secondary (i.e. 10+2) level.

NUMBER OF SEATS: 30 seats

ADMISSION CRITERIA:
The admission shall be done on the basis of combined entrance test (100
marks). Entrance Test Question paper will consist of multiple choice question on
English Language and comprehension, Numerical Aptitude, Basic Computing abilities,
General Awareness and Reasoning. There shall be no negative marking. The
selection to the course will be through a 1½ (One and Half) hours written test.

There shall be no weightage of any P.G. Degree/Diploma. Question Paper pattern for
Entrance Examination (100 Marks).
Part – A: 40 Multiple Choice Questions in Total, comprising of Questions based on
logical reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, English Comprehension.
Part – B: 60 Multiple Choice Questions in Total based on B.C.A./B.Sc.(Computer
Science) Syllabus

RESERVATION:
The existing reservation rules of the University shall apply in admitting the
students to this course.

Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (P.G.D.C.A)

(Two Semester Self-Financing Programme)

THE PROGRAMME:
The Lucknow University Computer Department offers a one year (Two
Semester) programme leading to the Post Graduate Diploma in Computer
Applications. The aim of this course is to give an all round training in Computer
Application, sufficient to equip a person to independently use the computer in the
efficient management of word procession, data processing, use of spreadsheet
management, scientific application and programme.

ELIGIBILITY:
For admission to PGDCA programme the minimum qualification required is an
undergraduate degree in Science, Commerce. Engineering, Medicine or Arts with at
least 45% marks for Gen/OBC and 40% marks for SC/ST Candidates.

NUMBER OF SEATS: 60 seats

ADMISSION CRITERIA:
The admission shall be done on the basis of combined entrance test (100
marks). Entrance Test Question paper will consist of multiple choice question on
English Language and comprehension, Numerical Aptitude, Basic Computing abilities,
General Awareness and Reasoning. There shall be no negative marking. The
selection to the course will be through a 1.5 (One and half) hours written test.
There shall be no weightage of any P.G. Degree/Diploma. The selection to the
course will be through a 1.5 (One and half) hours written test and shall have 100
multiple choice questions to test Logical Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude and English
Comprehension for 100 Marks.

Bachelor of Computer Application (B.C.A)
(Six Semester Self Financing Programme)

THE PROGRAMME:
The Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) programme is designed with a
special focus on current Computer Applications. It shall be three years (six semesters)
full time programme.The BCA Program aims to develop ability to interact with real-life
situations and to build systems which can be efficiently processed on computers. Take
up positions in systems Management and project management in leading IT
corporations. The Degree of B.C.A of the University of Lucknow shall be conferred on
the candidate who purses the prescribed courses of study for six semesters and
passes the examinations as prescribed under the relevant ordinances.

ELIGIBILITY:
The candidate should have passed Intermediate/Higher Secondary (i.e. 10+2) or
equivalent examination with a minimum of 40% marks for Gen/OBC and 36% marks
for SC/ST Candidates and with Mathematics as one of the subjects (Only
Science/Math stream students are eligible).

NUMBER OF SEATS: 60 seats

ADMISSION CRITERIA:
The admission shall be done on the Merit of XIIth Marks (Intermediate Level).
The Marks in percentage will be the aggregate of all the subjects.

The existing reservation rules of the University shall apply in admitting the
students to this course.

Rules for filling up the Application Form of LUCSAT -2009:

1. The Application form will be available at the website www.lkouniv.ac.in from
which it can be downloaded.
2. The Application form must be filled in Capital letters by the candidate in his/her
own handwriting.
3. Incomplete application forms will be subjected to rejection. The candidate
would have then no claim.
4. The Xerox copy of the properly filled Application Form must be kept by the
candidate, which can be treated as the proof of filled form when produced along
with postal receipt.
5. Percentage of marks should be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in all
the subjects the applicant has offered in the examination. The percentage of
marks will be calculated up to three places of Decimal.
6. Attested Photo-stat Copies of mark-sheets, testimonials etc. should be
enclosed with this application form.
7. The Candidates have to submit two set of Xerox copy of relevant
Certificates/Mark sheets along with originals.
8. Forms will be accepted by registered post/Speed Post only. No forms shall be
accepted by hand.
 9. The existing reservation rules of the University shall apply in admitting the
students to these courses.
10. All legal matters shall be subject to Lucknow Jurisdiction only.
11. The Semester fees must have to be submitted by the candidate at the time of
counseling itself otherwise chance will be given to next candidate in order of
merit.
12. Candidates must write Name and address with phone number on backside of
the demand draft. Candidate must mentioned the name of course on top of the
envelop Registered Post/Speed Post.
