The School Leaders Program within the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology in the College of Education at Florida Atlantic University invites nominations and applications for an assistant professor. The School Leaders program is home to active researchers, the nationally recognized PROPEL Program, The UCEA Center for Research on School Governance and the Superintendency, and an international partnership with the University of Malaya. The Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology is a community of scholars focusing on the preparation and support of leaders and researchers in Florida, the nation and the international community through the values of leadership, research and scholarship, and social responsibility within a learning community environment. Faculty welcomes candidates who can contribute to our community. We aspire to distinctively impact our faculty, students, communities, and educational policy, practice, and research. It enrolls approximately 30,000 students on campuses in Boca Raton, Davie, Jupiter, and Harbor Branch. For additional information regarding the Department and the School Leaders Program, go to: http://www.coe.fau.edu/academicdepartments/el/schoolleaders/default.aspx Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have an earned doctorate (ABD will be considered with assurance of PHD awarded prior to appointment) from an accredited institution with a concentration in School Leaders or a related discipline. The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes from the masters to doctoral level through on-line or at multi-campus sites, advise students, be a productive researcher, and actively seek external research support. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with urban and/or international educational experiences. We prefer candidates with (1) positive school leader experience, (2) a clearly defined research agenda, and (3) experience working in alliance with practitioners on significant reform efforts.
