T-4095 BALANCING INSTRUMENT

Smart Balancing T-4095 Balancing Instrument In addition to the Duyar Threaded Flanged Static Balancing Valves it comprises flow data for most of the existing balancing valves on the market and enables the setting and putting into operation of almost all balancing valves. The instrument is equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology.

Basically the instrument consists of 3 interfaces:

Flow meter The sensor measures differential pressure (-P) connecting instantly to the balancing valves. Equipped with a Bluetooth receiver/transmitter unit. Designed as water proof and shock-resistant. Hand terminal Includes Windows Mobile Operation System and Smart Balancing Program. Receives differential pressure (-P) data connecting to the flow meter via Bluetooth and converts it into instant flow. Internal memory compares present flow characteristics of known balancing valves and determines the valve position. In system balancing operations you can save the operated valves and generate a project. You can connect via Bluetooth both to your computer and personal notebook. Connection accessories These consist of measuring hoses and needles that are connected to the flow meter and balancing valve. Both hoses have quick-connection units. Needles that enable connection to the measuring ports of the valve contain a latch locking system instead of the classic bolt locking system. This allows a fast connection and dismantling. When connected to the flow meter and balancing valves you can monitor on your hand terminal graphically the instant flow and compare this data with the flows memorized in the system of other balancing valves. You can perform a standard measuring with preset Kv values or by introducing special Kv values.

CARTRIDGES
Function Each one of the dynamic balancing valve cartridges has a specially cut orifice space (flow area of the fluid) and fixed with a SS 316 stainless steel spring onto the composite body; it contains a moving cylinder. Designed to maintain a fixed flow rate value in a determined differential pressure (P). If the pressure differs from the P value of the dynamic balancing valve, the flow rate will deviate from the desired value. The basic flow value can be simplified as follows: Q = A * P Q: Q: Flow rate A: flow area P differential pressure (pressure difference) The cartridge has been designed (within the defined P difference) to change the orifice area in order to maintain a fixed flow rate value. When crossing the P difference the cartridge acts like a fixed orifice and the flow rate shows variability. As it can be seen in the figure when selecting the right cartridge a correct flow rate can be obtained within the defined P difference. Thus, even if the system contains a variable flow rate the balancing valve balances automatically the whole system. Cartridge selection 1 - P difference defines the minimum and maximum differential pressure value that the valve will face in the installation line tanmlar. After defining this value, you can use the flow rate table and select the cartridge that comprises the defined minimum and maximum values. 2 - The flow rate should be selected from the various flow rates that lie within the defined P difference as indicated in the table and with reference to the closest flow rate value of your project; the cartridge should be selected correspondingly.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION IN SYSTEM BALANCING

Why are we balancing? The pressure difference of valves and heating equipments within an installation line show variety, in connection with the distance to the pump, caused by friction losses in the pipes. Sending the desired flow rate to the most remote equipment can be achieved only by applying more pump power than necessary. Thus, equipments that are near to the pump will be subjected to excessive flow rate whereas other instruments will lack the necessary flow rate. Therefore adequate heating or cooling cannot be achieved. Old method: Balancing with pipe diameter During the design process it is not possible to calculate the pressure drop caused by friction within each pipe circuit. Due to the standardizedpipe diameters it is impossible to elect the right pipe diameter for the right flow rate. Reverse Return Balancing System Enables for each equipment same pipe length. Although it captures almost the design flow rates, however it is rather a costly solution due to the double pipe workmanship and the additional pipe requirement. Unable to maintain flow rate

Unneccessary energy

Incorrect balancng

Correct but an expensive method

Raw systems without any flow rate application as well as todays HVAC systems can be balanced with modern technological balancing equipments instead of methods such as reaching the flow rate with increased pump power, insufficient balancing by using pipe dimensions and expensive balancing with reverse return method.

System Balancing Using Balancing Valve A - Static (Manuel) Balancing B - Dynamic (Automatic) Balancing

When the setting of the manual balancing valve changes in the system, not only the flow rate of this equipment that uses the

balancing valve will change but also the general flow rate of other pipes. Each branch, colon and main pipe line requires additional Static Balancing Valves.

The flow rate passing through static balancing valve in the system must be adjusted and put into operation measured individually.

When the setting of automatic balancing valve changes, only the flow rate of the equipment that uses the balancing valve will change, other equipments will not be affected. Branch, colon and main lines dont require Dynamic Balancing Valve It will be sufficient to install it on the equipment. Depending on the project the cartridge can be selected and ordered and the valves will be mounted upon these cartridges and installed in the system. No setting or measuring is required when putting into operation the system. Causes less resistance and less pressure loss.
