American Colonies Project Options

Option A: Brochure Advertise your colony! You want more people to settle in your colony. Create a tri-fold brochure with information that will allow the Europeans to know more about your colony. Be sure to include information for each of the categories A E in the rubric.

Option B: Time Capsule & Letter Go back in time and pretend that you are a colonist! Put together a time capsule that explains your life in the colonies. Find and collect one item to symbolize each of the categories A E from the rubric. The items must represent life in your assigned colony. Then write a letter about your life as a colonist with an explanation of each symbol for the future generations to read. Remember to check the rubric to see how many statements you should provide for each category! Place all of the items and letter in a box (e.g., shoebox) and bring it in on the day of your presentation.

! !"#$%&'()'*%+,-*%$&#' ! Give a tour of your colony! Imagine that a new group of settlers came to your colony! They do not know anything about your colony so you decided to give them a tour. Tell them everything they need to know about settling in your colony by creating a PowerPoint slide presentation. Be sure to include information for each of the categories A E in the rubric.
