Now, using another needle (one of the double points will work), pick up 24 sts from the cast-on edge. Hold your working needles parallel to each other, wrong sides together and do a 3-needle bind off. Dont know how? Here is a great online tutorial: http://techknitting.blogspot.com/2011/12/threeneedle-bind-off-for-real-this.html Cross 2 Left: 1. Miss the first stitch on the lefthand needle and knit the second stitch through the back of the loop (working behind the missed stitch). 2. Do not slip the worked stitch off the needle, but twist the needle forward and knit the missed stitch through the front of the loop (a regular knit stitch). Then slip both stitches off the needle together. Cross 2 Right: 1. Miss the first stitch on the lefthand needle and knit the second stitch, working through the front of the loop only. 2. Do not slip the worked stitch off the needle, but twist the needle back and knit the missed stitch through the front of the loop (a regular knit stitch). Then slip both stitches off the needle together.

Now holding your newly knitted cuff (you will hold it so that the seam runs up and down). You will use your double points (or sometimes I use a much smaller needle just to make the picking up easier) and start picking up stitches: 8 sts on 1st needle, 8 sts on 2nd needle, 8 sts on 3rd needle. = 24 sts total. A good tutorial for picking up stitches along the side of garter stitch can be found here: http://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/archives/2009/06/2 4/pickup_lines.html
