A Black & White print flier to promote an upcoming Leadership Conference. Process: In InDesign i created a 8.5 by 11 document and did a black backdrop. From there i placed the provided image in the lower half to create a contrast. I used a decorative font for the title and a contrasting body font for the text. A Dashed line to move the eye down the page to keep it simple and informative. Top 3 things learned: 1) How to use some of the basic tools on InDesign. 2) How to place an image. 3) How to use to make different shapes and fill them with color.

Description: In Microsoft Word i created a full bleed document (as close as you can in Word) I inserted my scanned image on the document and split it, placing both pictures on the right and left side of the document. In the center of the page i inserted my information with two contrasting fonts. I kept the size font the same throughout the ad with the exception of the Script font. Process: I found the image i wanted to scan from a J Crew magazine and i followed the instructions written in our course manual. I found the size of these images in photoshop and i cropped them according to the ideal size. I then opened them in word and designed the ad to how i wanted it to be. Top 3 things learned: 1) How to scan a high quality image. 2) How to size an image in photoshop 3) How to use the basics of Word publisher to design an event ad! Program(s) / Tools used: Epson Scanner Photoshop Microsoft Word

8.511 project: Description: The photograph i used for this assignment is one that i took and loved. Before i did any kind of editing i loved the contrast in the colors and large blocks of color. When i started editing it i knew that i didnt want to make it look unnatural but keep the same tone. When i first selected part of the image to desaturate it was the opposite of what i have. I didnt keep it because i felt like it took away from the image looking natural. I changed my selection to the sky and desaturated it completely. On top of that i added the Craquelure texture filter and changed the crack spacing to 7 and the crack depth to 1. With the Crack brightness to 9. I loved the finished product because it is simple and has a art appeal to it. I love the sky and even though it is flat it still looks like real texture. Process: Top 3 things learned: 1) How to select and deselect an image on photoshop with the quick selection tool. 2) How to desaturate an image. 3) How to add a filter to an image. Programs/Tools Used: Canon Camera. Photoshop. Quick Selection too. Desaturation tool and a filter from the gallery.

Process: In illustrator i created three logos using the pen and brush tool. I first sketched some ideas that i had first to get an idea of what i wanted to do. From there i drew as much as i could with the pen tool (especially the antlers) and then went over it with the brush tool. Adding some different shape. I used the brush tool for the entire balloon logo but changed the weight for the different parts of it. Top 3 things learned: 1) How to use the pen tool. 2) How to change the color of my fonts so they can be contrasting. 3) How to add a layer in illustrator Programs/Tools Used: Adobe Illustrator Top Logo Font #1 Name & Category: MA Sexy (dafont) & Script Font #1 Name & Category:MA Sexy (dafont) & Script Middle Logo Font #2 Name & Category:MA Sexy (dafont) & Script Font #1 Name & Category:MA Sexy (dafont) & Script Bottom Logo Font #2 Name & Category:MA Sexy (dafont) & Script How the logo represents the company: This logo is for a small Graphic Design Company. Description: A letterhead and Business card for a made up design company called, Little Lady Design Process:I really loved the idea of a silhouette image for a business card so after getting some inspiration online a looking up lots of tutorials on youtube about the different ways to use the pen tool and tons of trial and error i came out with my own. For the Letterhead i just decreased the size of the Silhouette and added the line going across. I tried different watermarks but didnt like any of them because i felt like they were just too much for the paper. Top 3 things learned: 1)How to delete anchor points using the pen tool 2)How to fill an object on illustrator 3)How to share documents between illustrator and in design. Programs/Tools Used: Adobe illustrator and Adobe indesign Logo Font #1 Name & Category: Ma Sexy (dafont) Script Logo Font #2 Name & Category:Ma Sexy (dafont) Script Stationery Font #1 Name & Category:Ma Sexy (dafont) Script Stationery Font #2 Name & Category:Ma Sexy (dafont) Script How the logo represents the company: It represents the company with simple elegance and design through a illustration.
