The story of the unlucky thirteenth Apollo mission was made into a successful Hollywood feature film. It is the tale of a mission that went horribly wrong after just two days in space. The crew had just finished a TV broadcast when the pilot pressed a button for a routine exercise.

There was a loud explosion and the spacecraft went out of control. For the next six hours the crew desperately tried to work out what had gone wrong. They had to work fast because they knew that if they ran out of oxygen and electricity, they were finished. They also needed water, not for themselves, but to cool the spaceships electronic systems. With the help of the engineers at NASA, they got the ship back under control and guided it back to the Earth. When the parachutes finally brought the module back, nobody could believe that they had really done it. It was a tale of incredible imagination and intelligence absolutely perfect for a film. 1p 1.
