LEARNING ACTIVITY PLAN

Name: Jen Langer Description of Activity: Telling of the story of the Earth. (This is a story I heard at a conference last year and it really stuck with me.) Site: Jens Little Ones LLC Type of Activity: Unique Story Age group: 2-4 Number in group: 2-4 Concepts & Skills: Children will recite what is wrong with the earth. Children will predict what the sun, wind, animals and children will say to the earth. Questions to ask: While telling the story, asking children questions likeWhat do you think the Sun said to the earth? And What did the Earth say was wrong? Procedure: I will gather the children for circle or story time. I will ask the intro questions? Then I will show them the picture of the earth from space. We will talk about the different parts of the earth. Then I will tell the story, asking the children questions along the way. Opening Question/Invitation/Prop/Finger Play: Where does the food you eat grow? What about the water you drink, Where does that come from? How do you feel when you fight with your friends?
