v West %frica %dvanced chool of &heology .W%% &/ is based in 5om6, &ogo. &he cam!us is actually home to two schools- the undergraduate W%% & and the %ssemblies of God Graduate chool of &heology .%GG &/. v W%% & and %GG & em!hasi?e the :entecostal mandate and the fulfillment of the Great 0ommission, e@ui!!ing men and women for outreach in the !ower of the Holy !irit. v W%% & o!ened in +A8+, offering both French and English !rograms to train 0hristian wor$ers from West and 0entral %frica. Its 7#year !rogram offers a !ost#secondary di!loma and a bachelor of theology degree. v %GG & o!ened in +AA,B its French !rogram began in )**). &he ,#year !rogram offers a master4s degree in missiology. v W%% & and %GG & today serve some )* nations of West and 0entral %frica, covering about a third of the continent. 9ore than +* million %G believers live within this area, which is larger than the C. ., including %las$a and Hawaii. v W%% & courses are given in bloc$ sessions twice a year. %GG & students meet from 9ay through 1uly. v Dine e<tension centers ma$e it !ossible for students to attend bloc$ sessions closer to home. &hey s!end their last semester at the central cam!us and graduate together. v ince the first e<tension center was o!ened in the +AA*s, enrollment has grown more than +* times, from about ,= students to more than =**.

:raise God for answered !rayer in these areas2013 Graduating Class: On Dovember ), A8 students wal$ed the line to receive their di!lomas. Eight received the !ost#secondary di!loma and 83 the bachelor of theology degreeB these undergraduates came from +) different nations. &hirteen students re!resenting ; nations received the 9% degree. Personnel: Eesident housing filled u! in )*+7( &wo families arrived toward the end of )*+). %nother cou!le, who had !reviously served as visiting !rofessors, came to stay in 1une )*+7, and a young lady arrived in 1uly to serve for ) years. The Challenge of Islam: &he wee$ly Friday !rayer meetings on behalf of 9uslims are ma$ing an im!act on students. %s they !ray, many are sensing a burden to reach out to 9uslims, and are sharing this with their churches and establishing !rayer grou!s. Radio Jesus Lo es !ou: In February )*+7 the radio station was turned over to the &ogo %ssemblies of God. It continues to o!erate on the cam!us with the same vision- the salvation of souls for 1esus. "inshasa #$tension Center: &he new library building has been com!leted and e@ui!!ed with a com!uter lab. &his center will begin the first e<tension of %GG &4s 9aster4s !rogram this year. Chad: % new church established in 9oundou, where the 'ible school is located, is growing @uic$ly and has the !articular goal of e@ui!!ing members to go out as church !lanters. Mali: :astors who were forced to flee the north in )*+) are now moving bac$ to reo!en their churches. &he !rimary school in &imbu$tu was left untouched and will ho!efully be reo!ened. %lso, a radio ministry has been able to e<!and its broadcasting u! to &imbu$tu and reaches into the far north by shortwave. %ierra Leone: Dew 'ible training efforts are being im!lemented here. &he e<tension coordinator and W%% & graduates are setting u! centers that offer wee$end courses for bi#vocational !astors. &he ho!e is that more can further their training at the 'ible college. Togo: &ogo4s northern 'ible school cam!us at agbi6bou held its first graduation in )*+7. &he two cam!uses allow for double the number of newly# trained !astors to enter the field each year.

This wee !ray concerning C&'LL#(G#% )'CI(G *''%T We !raise God for the !ositive im!act of W%% & and its graduates around the continent and beyond( We !ray for His wisdom to coordinate the !rograms o!erating on the central cam!us in &ogo and in A other nations, and involving !rofessors who live thousands of miles a!art. 9ore staff has Foined us, but some offices and the library still need !ersonnel. Funding is needed for re!airs and additions for buildings, for travel for teachers, and for scholarshi!s. 9ost of all, we need His Holy !irit to hel! students and staff ali$e to $ee! our focus on 1esus and His missionour reason for being. This wee !ray #or '(G+L' Even as civil war raged from +A8=#)**), the 0hurch in %ngola e<!loded, and it continues to grow. 'ut even today illiteracy !revents many from reading the 'ible, and because few !astors could !ursue 'ible training, elements of animism and cults have been integrated into the !reaching in many churches. &he answer- being filled with the !irit and learning God4s Word. Over the !ast few years more than 7,*** !astors have received teaching through GEoots of FaithH 'ible courses given around the country, and the 'ible school in 5uanda is training at least 8*. &wo %ngolans are studying at %GG &B alumni are involved in training, !astoring, and 'ible distribution. Islam claims much of the northB voodoo holds many in bondage in the south. 9any who sense God4s call to these areas hesitate, fearing !ersecution. Within, many inde!endent revival movements tout false doctrines, and most churchgoers do not $now even the basics of the faith. &he %G has only +8 churches and fewer trained !astors. % cou!le who are W%% & alumni are heading an effort to !rovide training seminars and conferences for !astors and lay wor$ers beginning this year. 0%E4s believers need the em!owering Holy !irit to overcome these challenges and grow. This wee !ray #or C&'D Islam, tribalism, !overtythese and other challenges face the %G in 0had. 9ost of the +** churches are in villages in the southB the north is virtually untouched. &he 'ible school in 9oundou is training towards outreach, and the director has o!ened a church to !re!are and send wor$ers. GIoice of Ho!eH radio !rograms reach many, !articularly 9uslims, who are then disci!led. One missionary is wor$ing in 'ible translation and literacy in an unreached area. However, the ca!ital city, 'ra??aville, has been largely neglected. False teachings are gaining a large audience as many see$ earthly !ros!erity over an authentic relationshi! with 1esus. %n e<tension of the 'ible school is needed in 'ra??aville to hel! local !astors to better understand and !reach the !ure Word. Dew students, es!ecially those who have been out of school for many years, are sometimes challenged as they readFust to formal studyB confront new ideasB and hear different accents and try unfamiliar food in this multicultural, bilingual environment. &he schedule is rigorous, and some who live nearby also have !astoral duties. &hey need strength and wisdom to a!!ly themselves well to their studies over the ne<t A wee$s. Islam is growing, mostly through foreigners, and many see$ to win over 0hristians through economic incentives and marriage. This wee !ray #or M'LI &his !ast year violence continued in northern 9ali as &uareg rebels, %nsar >ine, and other grou!s struggled for control. ome =**,*** !eo!le fled the region. &roo!s from France and %frican nations intervened in early )*+7. &he situation is still tense, but the sharia law that had been im!osed was lifted and government !osts reestablished. In %ugust the first refugees returned home. 9any !astors who had fled have returned to reo!en their churches. Iarious ministries, including an English caf6, an agricultural !roFect, and wor$ among street boys, continue in the south. This wee !ray #or C'MP-% IMPR+3#M#(T% When a hard rain leaves !uddles in the student cha!el, it4s time for a new roof( &his year4s !roFect is to re!lace this roof by adding a new story to the building, which houses the student cha!el, a classroom, and offices. &his will !rovide more needed classroom and office s!ace, and more floors will be added as funds allow. ome of the dormitories are also showing their age, as roofs need to be !atched or re!laced. 5ibrary resources are slowly growing, and we than$ God for more wor$ers in the library to better serve the students. One such lesson is that of trusting the 5ordthe One who called each of these men and women to further their training at W%% &to !rovide finances for each semester. 0osts are $e!t as low as !ossible, but many find their faith stretched as they must meet the e<!enses of tuition, lodging, boo$s, and travel. &hose coming from e<tension centers to 5om6 for their last semester often face high travel costs. With more than ;=* !eo!le grou!s in sub# aharan %frica deemed unreached, the churches here li$ewise need His !rom!ting and !ower to reach those whose hearts God has !re!ared.
