INTERNAL / EXTERNAL JOB POSTING Kitsilano Neighbourhood House Better at Home Programmer PT Position

Job Purpose: The Better at Home (BAH) Programmer will work collaboratively and under the direction of the Manager of Seniors Programs to develop and implement the Better at Home program in Kitsilano. This initiative provides non-medical support services for local seniors so that they can continue to live independently in their own homes and remain connected to their communities. Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate, develop and promote the Kitsilano Better at Home program Actively engage seniors in program development and decision making Coordinate and support BAH Advisory Committee meetings Develop Implementation Plan informed by community consultation and BAH Advisory Committee Recruit, screen and support program volunteers Develop and facilitate training for program volunteers Build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders of the program Collaborate with staff and volunteers as part of a larger community support team Assist with development of Outcome Measurement Framework Monitor program outcomes, statistics and prepare reports for funders Provide leadership and issue advocacy to support isolated and vulnerable seniors Qualifications: Post Secondary degree in a relevant field or suitable combination of education and experience Demonstrated experience implementing and delivering multi-stakeholder programs Knowledge of seniors issues and local community resources Knowledge of friendly visiting / volunteer driver programs, and associated risk management a strong asset Experience recruiting, training and supporting volunteers Commitment to the Neighbourhood House Model of service delivery Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work independently and in a team environment Ability to work flexible hours and participate in KNH special events Creative, open-minded and a self-starter Strong computer skills in MS Office, data management and basic graphic design Second language an asset Criminal record check required Drivers license and a car / access to a car required
