CEMS Preventative Maintenance Program

We can help you satisfy your CEMS and Continuous Opacity Monitoring System (COMS) Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Manual requirements. The Air Compliance Testing team of professionals includes staff specializing in CEMS work. They have worked on over 100 CEMS-related projects. Our extensive field experience performing Relative Accuracy Test Audits (RATA) provides the insight necessary to understand the complexities associated with these sometimes cantankerous systems. Let us design a program that will satisfy your CEMS and COMS requirements. Our programs include monthly, quarterly, and annual activities. Detailed checklists are used to document activities and ensure completeness. Following is a sample of what our CEMS Preventative Maintenance Program can include. This list is not all-inclusive. Our scope of work will be developed specifically to meet your needs. Monthly Preventative Maintenance Monthly Maintenance includes performing the following procedures each month.
Check: CEMS calibration and/or leak check system Instrument sample flow rates Operation of sample back-purge system Sample probe temperatures, pressures and vacuums Instrument panels and Data Acquisition System (DAS) for any alarms Clean or replace as necessary: Computer fan filter All CEMS filters not checked during daily Inspections CEMS shelter air conditioner air filter Sample lines and connections Also Included: Service CEMS instruments according to manufacturer's instructions Record Pressures of the Cylinder Gas Audit (CGA), linearity, and daily calibration gas cylinders Evaluate daily calibration trends Initiate corrective action and associated documentation for any malfunctions identified Replace daily calibration gas cylinder and reprogram computer for correct concentration On-Stack CEMS monitors/probes maintenance according to manufacturer's Instructions Recalibrate CEMS Monitors

Quarterly Preventative Maintenance and CGA Service Quarterly Maintenance includes all the Monthly tasks, plus performing the following procedures once each quarter.
Perform: Leak check on the flow monitor system Linearity check on the instruments Cylinder Gas Audit (CGA) Automated zero Optical alignment check Also included: Clean lenses Insert upscale filter

Annual Preventative Maintenance and RATA Annual Maintenance includes all Monthly and Quarterly tasks, plus the following.
Check: Front Panel Meters and DAS agreement Optical Alignment System Response Time Perform: Leak Check on the Flow Monitor System Leak Check on the Concentration Sample System Relative Accuracy Test Audit (RATA) Also Included: Calibration Error Averaging Period Calculation and Recording Verify Operational Test Period Verify Zero and Upscale Drift Error
