(1) Hospitals - general purpose hospitals, psychiatric facilities, detoxification facilities At least 10 percent of patient bedrooms and toilets, and all public use and common use areas are required to be designed and constructed to be accessible. ( ) Hospitals and rehabilitation facilities that speciali!e in treating conditions that affect mobility, or units "ithin either that speciali!e in treating conditions that affect mobility All patient bedrooms and toilets, and all public use and common use areas are required to be designed and constructed to be accessible. 6.%.1 !e> onstruction# ,n ne" construction all public use and common use areas are required to be designed and constructed to comply "ith section &. At least one of each type of amenity (such as "ashers, dryers and similar equipment installed for the use of occupants) in each common area shall be accessible and shall be located on an accessible route to any accessible unit or sleeping accommodation. 01203*,45. 'here ele(ators are not pro(ided as allo"ed in &.1.#(%), accessible amenities are not required on inaccessible floors as long as one of each type is pro(ided in common areas on accessible floors.
8.$.2 Alterations.

(1) 7ocial ser(ice establishments "hich are not homeless shelters. (a) *he pro(isions of 6.%.# and 6.1.% shall apply to sleeping rooms and beds. (b) Alteration of other areas shall be consistent "ith the ne" construction pro(isions of 6.%.1. ( ) Homeless shelters. ,f the follo"ing elements are altered, the follo"ing requirements apply. (a) at least one public entrance shall allo" a person "ith mobility impairments to approach, enter and exit including a minimum clear door "idth of # in (?1% mm). Ever# station< 'us stop< 'us stop pad< terminal< 'uildin" or other transportation facilit#< shall compl# +ith the applica'le provisions of section !< the special application sections< and the applica'le provisions of this section. The e)ceptions for elevators in !.1.3-$.< e)ception 1 and !.1./-1.-4. do not appl# to a terminal< depot< or other station used for specified pu'lic transportation< or an airport passen"er terminal< or facilities su'3ect to Title BB. 1>.2 Bus Sto/s and er#inals. 19.2.1 7e" Construction.

(1) 'here ne" bus stop pads are constructed at bus stops, bays or other areas "here a lift or ramp is to be deployed, they shall ha(e a firm, stable surface/ a minimum clear length of 6) inches (measured from the curb or (ehicle road"ay edge) and a minimum clear "idth of )0 inches (measured parallel to the (ehicle road"ay) to the maximum extent allo"ed by legal or site constraints/ and shall be connected to streets, side"al8s or pedestrian paths by an accessible route complying "ith &.# and &.&. *he slope of the pad parallel to the road"ay shall, to the extent practicable, be the same as the road"ay. +or "ater drainage, a maximum slope of 1.%0 ( B) perpendicular to the road"ay is allo"ed. 'here the circulation path is different, signage complying "ith &.#0.1, &.#0. , &.#0.#, &.#0.%, and &.#0.:(1) shall be pro(ided to indicate direction to and identify the accessible entrance and accessible route. ( ) ,n lieu of compliance "ith &.1.#(?), at least one entrance to each station shall comply "ith &.1&, 0ntrances. ,f different entrances to a station ser(e different transportation fixed routes or groups of fixed routes, at least one entrance ser(ing each group or route shall comply "ith &.1&, 0ntrances.
